Purpose
The CWS Fort Collins Reach Navigator - Employment, will be part of a team whose purpose is to welcome refugees, humanitarian parolees, special immigrant visa holders, and other Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) eligible newcomers to Colorado with supportive and bundled services that lead to early self-sufficiency and employment, social adjustment, educational and economic empowerment, and healthy living; to engage with refugee families to help them move from arrival to initial stabilization and self-sufficiency in an array of domains; and, to assist refugee families in attaining success in the first steps toward integration and set them up for success over the long-term.
The primary purpose of the Employment Navigator is to assist eligible participants, with a focus on intentionally preparing for and placing a participant in employment positions which offer a path to a livable wage, career laddering, and best position them for future success within the United States workplace.
This is a hybrid position, based out of the CWS Fort Collins office with a minimum of 2 days in-office. The Navigator will work directly with incoming families, with the support of an interpreter as needed and will be required to complete a background check, confidentiality agreement, and training modules, treating all individuals with compassion, understanding, and respect.
Responsibilities
Conduct trauma-informed intake and screening;
Provide comprehensive family assessment (FSSP) using standardized instruments; Meeting with clients to gather information, fill out questionnaires, and assess their distinct needs for support services.
Check eligibility for refugee cash assistance, employment incentives, and other income supports and provide them in a timely manner
Provide supportive services to assist refugees in applying for and maintaining benefits for which they are eligible;
Regularly connect with local service providers, community-based organizations, and other agencies throughout the State of Colorado to ensure that eligible clients are provided the basic tools necessary to meet their established short-term goals and objectives for their resettlement in the U.S.
Assess and monitor employment progress at regular intervals to ensure progress on goals is made, designated resources are maximized and modify initial resettlement plans and other case file documents as required.
Provide employability and workforce development services for individuals receiving benefits that require participation in activities and goal planning towards employment and cessation of benefits; Employability services include:
identify refugees' employment skills, complete and update the employment plan, provide referrals to employment skills training and other job support services, secure initial employment resultant in a positive 180 day retention;
provide workforce development services for individuals receiving cash assistance that require participation in activities and goal planning towards employment and cessation of benefits; refer and enroll clients in English language programming, job training or other educational opportunities individualized to meet the needs of each client, monitor client's progression and attendance;
educate refugees on budgeting, debt management, savings, and achieving financial literacy through referrals to community partners or on-site programming;
secure initial job placement for participants, preferably full-time employment (35+ hours) or a schedule that works best to meet the family's needs; and,
provide ongoing support for the initial 180 days of employment and/or as required under public benefit programs.
Maintain accuracy in client case files and case logs; update supervisor on case status; ensure compliance with case file management and reporting requirements, including timely data entry in databases.
Perform other duties as requested to support team needs and enhance program effectiveness.

Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience including working in case management with refugees.
Other Skills:
The successful candidate must be highly detail-oriented and possess superior organizational and task management abilities.Respect for client confidentiality. Strong computer literacy with knowledge of word processing and database applications, and ability to use standard office equipment in performing varied activities. Superior written and verbal communication skills.

Bilingual skills in English and a current refugee caseload language are preferred but not required (Spanish; Haitian-Creole; Ukrainian; Pashto; Dari; Tigrinya; Oromo; Arabic; Amharic; Kachin; Burmese).

This is a Hybrid position with a minimum of two days in office requirement.
