The Item Creation Representative manages the item creation process which includes ensuring data accuracy and coordinating input for all functional areas in the plant. Additionally, this role is responsible for evaluating, updating, and creating BOM's, alternate BOM's and routings as business needs require.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Manage the new Item Creation process within JDE assigning proper category codes required.
Sending data into JD Edwards created by the ISR, such as forms, documentation, purchase orders, prints, and specs. Create new items containing the following information: Item Number, Bill of Material, Routing, Customer Cross Reference, Customer Specification Item Specification Routing Instructions Unit of Measure Conversion
Determine if additional data is needed and coordinate with the following people to obtain it: Item Creation, Scheduling, Inside Sales Manager, Inside Sales, Item Management Rep, Accounting, Operations. Evaluate the following criteria when determining additional data necessary: Size (gauge/width/pressure) determine capable ranges Bill of material - determine primary BOM based on quality and cost Routing, determine capable machines, determine internal specification restrictions Check for duplicate items.
Update item to incorporate information requested.
Coordinate Engineering Change Order Process with all stakeholders required.
Incorporate any input from approvers.
Approve and activate item: Notify cost accountant and pricing administrator.
Perform item accuracy audit at predefined intervals.
