Description: Overview: We are seeking a skilled GIS Developer Analyst to join our Natural Hazards Research team. This role requires on-site presence 5 days a week.
Key Responsibilities:
Support Natural Hazards Research projects.
Automate processes and analyze results using Python.
Obtain, process, and analyze vector and raster datasets.
Geo-reference maps and aerial photographs.
Digitize and prepare input data for natural hazard models.
Post-process model outputs to create hazard maps.
Required Experience:
3-5 years in GIS-related roles.
Proficiency in ArcGIS, QGIS, and OpenGIS software.
GIS programming/scripting with Python (R and GDAL are a plus).
Experience with ArcMap's Hydrology toolbox, ArcHydro, and hydrologic/hydraulic modeling is advantageous.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in GIS, Civil Engineering, Computer Science, Urban Planning, or a related field from an accredited institution.
Essential Skills:
Managing ArcGIS Server and SQL Server, including data table creation.
Working with ArcGIS Online and/or ArcGIS Web App Builder.
Proficiency in Python scripting for data management.
Experience with Open Source GIS and QGIS tools.
Knowledge of raster datasets for slope and land analysis.
