As part of the integration engineering team this position is responsible for system integration, configuration, testing and maintenance activities as part of the application and integration engineering teams, at both local and remote facilities.


This role reports to the Integration Manager.



Job Responsibilities:


  • Has responsibility for equipment, software and system configuration, integration, testing and verification prior to shipment to customers.

  • Remote or on-site troubleshooting of equipment and systems and implementation of solutions.

  • Can be involved with field installation of configured systems and solutions.

  • Develop, document and revise system test procedures.

  • Keep current with technological changes and understand emerging technologies related to customer needs.

  • Communicate effectively and professionally with customers, provide equipment and system recommendations, and ensure customer issues are resolved in a timely manner.

  • Collaborate with the commercial teams as required to plan or resolve project or sales order issues.

  • Coordinate with the project management team to achieve project deliverables.

  • Apply data integrity standards to ensure that timely entry, accuracy, and consistency of data is used in any system, or digital tool that stores, processes, or retrieves data.

  • Integrate new sensors and technology into existing systems.

  • Ensure that all application engineering documentation is accurately maintained to reflect current project status.

  • Ensure defined business standard operating practices and procedures are followed within the integration engineering team.

  • Conducts work assignments of increasing complexity under close supervision.

  • Conducts work assignments of increasing complexity with some latitude for independent judgement.

  • Create reports for individual inspection rounds, end of year summaries, installation, and maintenance work.

  • Provide technical support knowledge and expertise, for both internal and external customers, to help root cause and resolve issues


Requirements




  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or an applicable equivalent combination of education, experience and/or training.

  • 1-3 years of application engineering and system configuration experience.

  • Strong project management, customer service operations, technical service operations, and fiscal management skills.

  • A proven ability to communicate effectively with engineers, project managers and product managers, while building trust, credibility, and mutual success across teams.

  • Excellent oral, written communication, and presentation skills.

  • Demonstrated complex problem-solving ability and sound judgement.

  • Strong process and procedure design and management skills.

  • Experience with product development lifecycle processes.

  • Ability to determine root causes of operating errors and creation and implementation of action plans.

  • Broad and extensive knowledge of remote data collection systems.

  • Related experience with cameras, networking, point-to-point telemetry, cloud software and mobile applications.

  • Prior experience and knowledge of telemetry systems, telemetry network design, RF path analysis and design, satellite communications and TCP/IP.

  • Knowledge of protocol analyzing tools.

  • Ability to generate and adapt equipment and technology to serve user needs.

  • Experience conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance.

  • Knowledge of sensor and datalogger technology.

  • Experience with GIS mapping software and tools.

  • Understanding of datalogger coding methods.

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with ERP software systems, preferably NetSuite and/or Salesforce.

  • PMP certification is preferred.

  • Must be able to work on, around, over and under fixed equipment and to work at heights from lifts and ladders.

  • Physical demands associated with this position include extensive walking, lifting & carrying heavy weighted materials (up to 50 lbs.), bending over to record field data, lifting, and transporting equipment by hand.

  • Ability and willingness to work in adverse weather or temperature conditions, hazardous environments, confined spaces and on uneven terrain.

  • Must be able to work on and around water, lakes, rivers, and dams.

  • Must be able to wear and work in personal protective equipment.

  • Valid passport and driver's license.

  • Ability and willingness to work overtime or weekends when and as required for business purposes.

  • Ability and willingness to travel, as and when required, for business-related purposes, both domestically and internationally.


Additional Information:

  • This is an on-site opportunity that must be performed from our office in Victoria, B.C.

  • Must be eligible to work in Canada without company sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment-based work authorization. F-1 visa holders with Optional Practical Training (OPT) who will require H-1B status, TNs, or current H-1B visa holders will not be considered. H1-B and green card sponsorship is not available for this position.

Compensation Range: A reasonable estimate of the current salary range for this position is $50,000-$80,000 CAD per year. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. AEM considers a wide range of factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education, licensure and certifications, key skills as well as other market and business considerations when extending an offer. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.
