BCForward is looking for IT Software QA Specialist Sr- Remote

Job Title: Quality Assurance Analyst
Location: Remote
Anticipated Start Date: Jan 20th 2025





Position Type: (Contract-to-Hire, Remote)
Duration: 1 Year Contract
Pay Rate: $50.00/hr per hour





Position Overview:



We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst to join our team on a contract-to-hire basis. This position is open to remote work and offers the opportunity for permanent placement based on performance and business needs. The ideal candidate will have 6+ years of QA experience, strong communication and troubleshooting skills, and proficiency in SQL/Oracle, Manual Testing, and Unix.



Manager's Notes:




  • Required Qualifications:


    • 6+ years of QA experience

    • Proficiency in SQL/Oracle

    • Excellent troubleshooting abilities

    • Basic Unix experience

    • Manual testing expertise

    • Self-starter and proactive work ethic



  • Preferred Qualifications:


    • End-to-End (E2E) Testing experience

    • API Testing experience

    • Experience with Progress Language

    • Familiarity with Quality Center/ALM

    • Proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio

    • Knowledge of SharePoint





Primary Responsibilities:



  • Develop, maintain, test, and debug test scripts for software to ensure alignment with defined requirements.

  • Formulate and define moderately complex system scopes and objectives.

  • Prepare detailed test specifications to ensure accurate application functionality.

  • Design, implement, test, debug, document, and maintain test scripts to ensure system requirements are met.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gain an understanding of application functionalities, including reports, claims management, intake services, interfaces, and more.

  • Analyze user needs and assist in designing tests that verify those needs are met.

  • Develop and modify test scripts and plans to verify that systems meet the specified requirements.

  • Verify system functionality by testing and assisting with team projects.

  • Document both new and existing software functionalities for future reference.

  • Investigate call escalations from the support team, make necessary corrections to data and software tests.

  • Support the growth of junior quality assurance analysts through mentorship and guidance.

  • Follow pre-established standards and guidelines for test design and development.

  • Stay updated on the latest quality assurance tools, technologies, and industry best practices.

  • Provide exceptional customer service and support to clients throughout the testing process.




Additional Responsibilities:



  • Support the organization's quality programs and initiatives.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.




Qualifications:




  • Education:


    • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field preferred.

    • Equivalent experience in testing and business analysis may be considered.



  • Experience:


    • A minimum of six (6) years of information technology or computer science experience, with at least three (3) years focused on testing and business analysis.

    • Strong background in interpreting user requirements and developing business application tests.



  • Skills & Knowledge:


    • Solid understanding of software testing and test design methodologies.

    • Excellent communication skills (oral and written).

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

    • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and organizational skills.

    • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

    • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines effectively.
