Job Description:

The Department of Health and Human Services is looking for an office specialist to join DHHS MLTC Claims team. This position, under immediate supervision, performs routine, clerical accounting work involving the preparation, maintenance, coding and/or processing of records and performs related work as assigned.


Job duties include:
•Data Entry.
•Answer incoming calls.
•Making outgoing calls to verify insurance details.
•Reviewing paper and electronic forms with insurance information.
•Updating the state database.
•Filing documentations.


Wage: $16.277
Hours: Monday - Friday 8 - 5
Dress Attire: Business Casual



Requirements/ Qualifications




Minimum Qualifications: Coursework/training in administrative/office support functions, procedures, and methods including the operation of personal computers and office equipment; or areas related to the programs and functions of the employing agency. OR Experience in customer service or public contact; or applying criteria/regulations; and/or performing administrative/office/secretarial support work including use of personal computers and office equipment.



Preferred Qualifications: Experience with clerical accounting procedures or other related office/clerical functions or course work/training in accounting, bookkeeping or related field. At least one year of customer service experience, experience with Enterprise One, NFOCUS, MMIS, OnBase, and Microsoft Excel.



Other: Must maintain confidentiality; sharp attention to detail; and proofreading skills. Must be able to maintain regular and predictable attendance.


No remote working in this position.


Knowledge, skills and abilities:


  • Highly organized.

  • Detail oriented.

  • Able to perform repetitive work in a high volume, fast paced work environment.

  • Basic computer skills.

  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word and Excel.

  • Proofreading skills.
