Metric5 is seeking a Senior SAS Engineer to join our growing team. As a SAS subject matter
expert, you possess extensive expertise in SAS software and will lead the management of existing
platforms while planning and implementing the upgrade to SAS Viya 4. You will facilitate the migration
of users and environments from the legacy SAS PME and SAS 3.5 platforms to the new Viya 4
environment. Additionally, you will develop server-side scripts to help automate administrative tasks
using Linux or Windows OS
Program Details
The program you will be supporting has a mission to provide development, security, and operations
(DevSecOps) support to a federal agency with a focus on development, operations, and modernization
of their Enterprise Data Warehouse/Data Lake. The team utilizes open-source, AWS Cloud, and Big Data
technologies, Agile project management practices, and modern DevSecOps delivery to provide support
systems to meet the reporting and data analytics need critical to agency leadership and other decision
makers.
Requirements

• Monitor the full architecture of the SAS environment to ensure optimal configuration and performance
• Diagnose infrastructure and performance problems as well as recommend and implement
  optimal solutions
• Experience with installing, implementing and configuring SAS including systems design,
  deployment, troubleshooting and tuning
• Experience with SAS system patching and upgrades
• Implement and configure SAS software
• Support configuration between tools and other required software for monitoring and testing
• Support application developers and tuning of the SAS infrastructure
• Experience in managing complex processes and providing solutions and enhancements for
  better maintenance of SAS
• Experience in administering an enterprise SAS solution
• Strong experience in SQL, Unix and
• SAS 9 and/or Viya certification

Desired Skills:

• Experience in SAS automation and SAS script migration
• Experience working in an agile or scrum development environment
• Experience with designing, planning and documenting solutions

Certifications

• SAS Certified Platform Administrator for SAS 9
• SAS Certified Advanced Programmer for SAS 9
• SAS Certified BI Content Developer for SAS 9
• Understanding of SAS Base/SAS Macro programming languages
• Experience with AWS Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Kubernetes

Years of Experience: At least 5 years of experience administering, developing and implementing SAS
solutions.
Education: Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline preferred – Computer Science, Mathematics, or
equivalent technical degree, or the equivalent combination of education, professional training, and work
experience.
Location: Remote within the US
Clearance: Must be a US Citizen and be able to obtain a government agency Suitability Clearance.

Annual Salary: $144,000 - $198,000
