As a Development Operations Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and optimizing our system integrations. You will focus on API integration, SQL performance tuning, and Single Sign-On (SSO) implementations using EntraID and efficiency integrations that support sales, manufacturing and finance equally. This role is essential to ensure the smooth operation of our various systems, enabling seamless data flow and system interoperability, and reduce data inconsistencies from manual entry. This role requires a hands on engineer that can also lead projects and coordinate junior resources.
Key Responsibilities
API Integrations:
Architect integration solutions for production critical tools.
Design, implement, and maintain integrations with third-party APIs.
Troubleshoot and optimize existing API integrations for performance and reliability.
Collaborate with internal and external teams to understand integration requirements and deliver solutions.
SQL Optimization:
Write, optimize, and troubleshoot complex SQL queries for efficient data retrieval and storage.
Analyze database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions for improvement.
Ensure the integrity and quality of data exchanged between systems.
SSO Integration:
Implement and manage Single Sign-On (SSO) solutions using EntraID across the enterprise.
Integrate SSO with various internal and external applications, ensuring secure and seamless access.
Troubleshoot authentication and authorization issues related to SSO.
System Integration:
Design, develop, and implement robust system integration solutions.
Work with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and translate them into integration requirements.
Ensure security, scalability, and maintainability of integration solutions.
Collaboration and Documentation:
Collaborate with software developers, IT teams, and business stakeholders to align integration solutions with business goals.
Document integration processes, technical designs, and best practices for future reference.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
15+ years of experience in system integration, API development, and database optimization.
Proficiency in integrating with RESTful and SOAP APIs.
Strong knowledge of SQL and experience with query optimization.
Experience with SSO technologies and protocols, particularly EntraID (formerly Azure AD).
Familiarity with cloud services, particularly Microsoft Azure.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with other identity and access management solutions.
Understanding of security principles and best practices for integrations.
Familiarity with modern software development practices (CI/CD, version control, etc.).
