The FORTNA Leadership and Development Rotation (LADR) Program is a 1-year, rotational program committed to the accelerated development of entry-level Professional Services and Engineering talent with a passion for technology, automation, and professional services coupled with a drive for exceptional client service. Through intense training and a variety of business-critical assignments, technical and business skills are developed. LADR graduates have the technical and business foundation to make innovative contributions that help our clients be successful in a dynamic world. The program consists of the following tracks: Project Management, Consulting, Engineering, Electrical Controls Engineering, Client Support, Maintenance and Software Development. Program members are full-time Fortna Associates and work in rotational assignments to accelerate their development and assimilation into the business.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:


LADR program members at FORTNA experience technically challenging rotations that are driven by opportunities to solve our clients' toughest distribution problems.



Engineering Function




Electrical Engineering




PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:



  • Supporting projects through the detail design and implementation phase. This includes support of electrical device layout, control panel fabrication, electrical installation, and As Built deliverable packages. Limited development of these deliverables is also required as the Associate builds experience and knowledge within Fortna and our projects.

  • Attending project meetings as required by project cadence.

  • Updating project team on the current status of project:

    • Attending project update meetings

    • Ensuring interdepartmental deliverables are provided on time



  • Ensuring Quality of deliverables, including use of Drawing Quality Control (DQC) process.

  • Supporting electrical equipment prototype efforts.




Mechanical Engineering




PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:



  • Supporting projects in the Operations Design/Solutions Development phase and their transition into the Detail Design/Implementation phase.

  • Supporting projects throughout the Integrated Detail Design (IDD) and Implementation phases. This will include RFP/Supplier Selection, detailed conveying design, ordering of equipment, reviewing Supplier Approval Drawings, development of installation drawing packages, and support of installation contractor, Project Manager, and Site Manager with installation efforts.

  • Assisting in all required portions of a project through the requirements engineering and final engineering (implementation) processes including engineering budget, schedule-tracking, submitting weekly status reports and maintaining the Engineering Project Workbook.

  • Taking ownership of all responsibilities of a project to ensure success.

  • Acting as the conduit in engineering to ensure an on-time and under budget implementation.




Controls Engineering




PRIMARY RESPONSBILITIES INCLUDE:



  • Write and implement PLC code, integrate subsystems, and assist in all on-site commissioning efforts.

  • Utilize "Human Machine Interface" (HMI) using commercially available products such as Ignition, Aveva Intouch Wonderware, Aveva Edge (Indusoft) or FactoryTalk View to develop interface solutions.

  • Implement PLC and HMI programs to satisfy current design and customer specifications under the supervision of Sr Controls Engineers.

  • Able to review and understand electrical designs.

  • As part of a team, support the commissioning of complex automated systems, provide site engineering support, and participate in system acceptance testing.
