What we do: 

We’re seeking an experienced, strategic, and innovative leader to serve as the Head of Data & Statistics, a function that provides data services to help better manage the increased demand for data and system-wide collaboration.

This strong leader will be responsible for leading a group of 100+ data analysts, specialists, and strategists who are experts in the collection and quality assurance of mission-critical data that supports monetary policy, financial institution supervision, and financial stability, and is distributed to policy decisionmakers across the Federal Reserve System They’ll also be responsible for onboarding and managing over 100+ data collections and serve as a consulting body for stakeholders seeking to increase data resiliency and improve data efficiency.

Reporting directly to the Head of the Research & Statistics Group, they’ll bring a visionary mindset and collaborative approach to the Group’s executive team.

Your role as the Head of Data & Statistics:

The Head of Data & Statistics should be excited to model and set expectations with respect to collaborating proactively with colleagues. This includes relying heavily on the expertise and leadership of others across the Group, Bank and System to achieve shared accountability for desired outcomes in accordance with the Bank’s mission, vision and values.


  • Oversee and develop high-performing teams responsible for the collection and analysis of data that supports our unique monetary policy, financial institution supervision, and financial stability work.


  • Coach, lead, and develop others to do their best work while building diverse teams and creating an inclusive culture.


  • Lead and participate in regular communication with the industry, respondents, and key stakeholders within and outside of the Federal Reserve System to ensure that expectations are set, quality standards upheld, and future business needs are supported.


  • Ensure the design of well defined, efficient data collections by working with data users and data providers.


What we are looking for:


  • Outstanding people leader who models and maintains a culture of trust within and beyond the team through direct, clear, and authentic communication.


  • Extensive understanding of financial analysis and data analytics, with exposure to complex financial institutions, supervising agencies, and/or major audit/consulting practices.


  • Track record of successful leadership in driving results and proactively managing change in dynamic organizational, technological operating environments. 


  • Exceptional collaboration and influencing skills with the ability to gather support for business initiatives and strategies across multiple partners with diverse or different interests.


Salary Range: $340000 - $440000 / year
