Job Description:

Summary of Duties:


• Deploy company safety program as first priority.
• Leads an assigned workforce comprised of unskilled and semi-skilled labor in the coupling shop.
• Directs workforce to adhere to all applicable work instructions, specifications and work order requirements.
• Drives for Continuous Improvement in all aspects of the area through Vallourec management system seeking ways to increase productivity, profitability, and elimination of waste.
• Assures that all jobs are completed in proper priority to meet production schedule.
• Responsible for resolving daily problems that delay the scheduled work.
• Accountable for ensuring all work performed maintains a high standard of quality and meets all Company and Customer requirements.
• Responsible for using KPI’s to drive business results.
• Responsible for assigning work according to priority and complexity to maximize efficiency, quality standards and productivity.
• Performs appraisals on all assigned personnel as scheduled.
• Ability to perform structured problem solving, root cause analysis and failure investigation.
• Responsible for adhering to and reporting on budget compliance.
• Leads in the training, qualification, and development of personnel under his/her responsibility and makes recommendations on personnel actions such as promotions, merit increases, and disciplinary actions.
• Leads in the implementation and cooperation of all Quality, Health, Safety, & Environment (QHS&E) topics for the wellbeing of all employees.
• Responsible for rejects and failing processes for assigned area, and must direct or participate, as applicable, in corrective action.
• Continually expand knowledge of work procedures.
• Engage in annual educational opportunities as provided by Vallourec University or AMA for professional development.
• Coordinate with maintenance to make repairs and/or reduce hazards in a timely manner.
• Investigate accidents or injuries and prepare reports of findings.
• Leads and participates in Continuous Improvement Teams and their action plan.
• Provide support to Management for special projects as requested, including transversal projects covering all production.
• Must follow all company policies, practices and regulations to include Safety and Quality.
• Any other duties as assigned.


Requirements:



  • • Preferred Associate’s Degree but, would consider equivalent industry or military experience for the right candidate who shows the willingness to work on continuing education.
    • Ability to manage hourly employees, lead teams, and cooperate with cross functional departments.
    • Must produce accurate reports.
    • Familiar with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, preferably SAP.
    • Working knowledge of Lean Mfg., and TPM principals or the strong desire to learn them.
    • Working knowledge of purchasing, maintenance, and production.
    • Strong Metal cutting background preferred
    • Could be required to work 12 hours per day and weekends
    • Some local or regional travel might be required
    • Microsoft Business Programs experience
    • Time Management with strong organizational skills.
    • Ability to read, write and speak well in English and possess strong analytical and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to understand and execute instructions aided by strong organizational skills to meet deadlines.
    • Must be able to pass applicable testing as required.
