Your Role: The MRO Procurement and Maintenance Coordinator​

The Consultant-Manufacturing Engineering is responsible for the management and procurement of facility, manufacturing, QC lab equipment and all spare parts associated with the equipment as well as coordination / scheduling of corrective and preventive maintenance, calibrations, contractor maintenance, and other work orders.  The MRO Procurement and Maintenance Coordinator will work to achieve the corporate goals of customer service levels, inventory targets, and help maintain the facility storeroom and CMMS system to assure adequate spare parts are kept on hand for all equipment.  This position will assign equipment ID numbers, manage the site equipment implementation system, and provide procurement functions for the Maintenance & Engineering groups for capital projects and any other procurement needs. 

 

Your Responsibilities:


  • Manage MRO stores materials to ensure reliable and compliant equipment operation.

  • Identify and stock critical spare parts to support production.  Research and purchase new equipment and or tools to support production processes.

  • Provide support for inventory analysis of distressed, obsolete, and rejected inventory in the spare parts storeroom and assist the Engineering team in implementing, procurement, and closure of capital projects.

  • Schedule and perform cycle count of maintenance inventory per the approved methodology and in compliance with local and corporate standards.

  • Responsible for coordinating and scheduling PMs, corrective maintenance, contractor maintenance, and other work orders, responsible for procuring and directing outside contractors for specialized activities such as validation, calibrations, filter certifications and lab instrumentation certifications, and responsible for communicating with manufacturing management and operations floor personnel as well as external partners concerning daily maintenance and/or production issues that affect the completion of the schedule.

 

What You Need to Succeed (minimum qualifications): 

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Experience: 5+ years’ experience in a regulated, commercial manufacturing environment, including 3+ years in a maintenance-related field. Experience must be inclusive of a minimum of 2+ years ERP systems knowledge and/or advance planning knowledge and how it relates to an ERP System. Experience with commissioning & qualification, validation, and change management processes.


  • Excellent organizational and planning skills with strong attention to detail and data accuracy and demonstrated success operating within a matrixed organization.

  • Strong technical and equipment knowledge and familiarity with developing job plans and procedures, understanding of cGMP standards for manufacture of veterinary biologics.

 

What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications): (pick 5)


  • Bachelor’s degree in a biomanufacturing related discipline (eg. biology, chemistry, engineering, etc.).

  • Experience in monoclonal antibody, vaccine and/or recombinant protein manufacturing, experience with SAP EAM systems. and experience in biological manufacturing including cell culture, purification (separation technologies, chromatography, tangential flow filtration), viral inactivation and cleaning / sterilization processes in a biological environment.

  • Understanding of USDA, FDA, and EU GMP regulatory standards for veterinary biologics.

  • Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma experience.

  • Travel: Minimal travel requirements < 5%.

  • Location: Onsite at Elwood, Kansas Facility
