WeldFit is looking for a Network and Systems Administrator to join our IT Team. This role will have some customer facing inquiries, but primarily work with Help Desk Tier One team members, as well as outside vendors on certain issues. The IT Team’s mission is to increase staff satisfaction by resolving IT issues and improve the successful use of deployed technologies to achieve the company’s business objectives.
The position will support existing on-premises servers which are primarily Windows based, networking infrastructure, cloud-based resources, security practices, and enterprise software. The role supports, implements, and maintains system operations and plans necessary upgrades and fixes. In addition, this position will research and provide recommendations of hardware and software technologies to meet the company’s business requirements. This is a pivotal position in the company’s migration into cloud-based resources like Microsoft Azure.
Duties and Responsibilities
Daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware and cloud resources, server resources, systems, and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
Performs all needed patching and upgrades of computer systems, as appropriate.
Investigate, analyze, and resolve hardware, associated software, and communications problems on all enterprise systems, firewalls, networking infrastructure, software, enterprise security, and data.
Provide technical assistance, be the next level of escalation, and mentor team on all enterprise systems, infrastructure, software, enterprise security, and data.
Ensure that modern cyber protection strategies are consistently deployed and updated on all endpoints clients, enterprise systems, infrastructure, software, enterprise security, and data.
Provide On-Call support for computer/network systems as required.
Be responsible for your own safety, the safety of other employees, and comply with all corporate policies and procedures regarding health, safety, and the protection of the working environment.
Ensures the correct use of safety devices and protective equipment as required and reports any hazards, accidents, or injuries to immediate supervisor.

Skills:
Expert knowledge of Windows Server (all versions), Active Directory on premise, including Entra and Microsoft cloud applications, Office 365 platforms, MFA solutions, Exchange on-prem and online, PowerShell, security patching methods and practices, and IT Lifecycle Management procedures. Working knowledge of Linux.
Demonstrates knowledge in supporting datacenter server hardware, NAS, SAN, and virtualized storage.
Strong understanding of networking infrastructures and foundational understanding of TCP, DNS, DHCP, OSI Model, firewalls, DMZ, ADFS, and certificate authority management. Sonicwall and/or Fortinet is a plus.
Knowledge of Server virtualization technology, having worked with VMWare / VSphere is a plus.
Microsoft Exchange Administration, email security with Sophos tool is a plus.
Working knowledge of wireless (Wi-Fi, fielding and maintaining WAPs) Ubiquity UniFi and/or Fortinet AP is a plus.
Experience administrating Remote Access VPN technologies and associated infrastructure.
Ability to function as a team member, mentor, as well as work independently.
Ability to diagnose and rectify a wide range of computer hardware and software problems. The ability to replace standard computer hardware (hardware break/fix), and lift and carry 50 lbs.
Must be able to work well within a flexible and dynamic environment and effectively adjust priorities as requirements change.
Must have great time management and interpersonal skills and be comfortable working in a team environment. Must be hands on and also assist in Tier 1 support when shorthanded.
Qualifications (Certifications and Education)
Preferred – Microsoft Azure Administrator, at least “Associate” level in Applications and Infrastructure role. MCSE will be considered favorably. Completion of any of the following: CompTIA A+, Networking+ and Security+ will also be considered favorably.
Preferred – Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Must have at least 5 or more years working experience in a system admin role.
