Responsible for the direct supervision of street supervisors. Maintains daily bus operations by overseeing on-street operations and response to emergent issues, incidents, accidents, and issues related to service delivery. This is a safety sensitive position subject to the rules and regulations of the Drug and Alcohol Policy.

Duties & Responsibilities:    
ESSENTIAL:


  • Conducts staff recruiting and oversight: conducts interviews, assigns work, trains, coaches, and counsels employees to ensure consistent application of Employee Guidelines, processes, and procedures. Conducts performance reviews and holds employees accountable for optimal performance of their responsibilities.

  • Manages coordination efforts with internal departments and external agencies related to on-street activities. Oversees response to incidents, accidents, emergencies, adverse weather, service disruptions, detours, schedule changes, special service operations, special events, and other emergent issues.

  • Implements safety and policy awareness adherence campaigns to ensure safety, consistency, quality of service is provided by both RTD and contract partner operators/supervisors.

  • Coordinates with Safety, Legal, Risk Management, Human Resource staff, and other internal partners regarding the proper reporting and tracking of incidents and accidents.

  • Monitors on-street bus operations for responsiveness and to ensure safety, reliability, schedule adherence and performance of service and staff.

  • Manages the coordination of temporary routing for special event and construction detours with internal and external partners. Coordinates with internal and external partners to limit disruptions and impact of the various detours to our patrons.

Qualifications:  


  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • A minimum of two years Street Supervisor which includes Field Supervisor with experience providing direct and on-site supervision of operations and a minimum of 1 year of incident/accident investigations.  

  • Proficient knowledge regarding policies and procedures as they apply to bus operations, street supervision/field supervision, and accident/incident investigation.

  • Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.

  • Ability to work unusual hours, split shifts, nights, weekends and holidays.

  • Ability to use sound judgment.

  • Ability to independently manage time and workload effectively which includes planning, organizing, and prioritizing with attention to details.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Proficient with CAD/AVL system.

  •  An equivalent combination of experience, knowledge, skills, abilities.

  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Pay Range:

$84,407.00 - $119,224.25 Annual
