Responsibilities:


Interact directly with site and functional leadership in the development and execution of EH&S initiatives and objectives. Actively promotes a zero-injury culture across all employees and functions.


Serves as subject matter authority for maintaining all facility required environmental permitting, plan development, reporting and inspection activities. Remains current with all applicable regulations and company policies and implements appropriate programs to ensure compliance.


Plans, implements, and coordinates risk programs to reduce or eliminate occupational illness and injuries. Review incident reports and investigate to root cause, to develop solutions to minimize or prevent recurrence.


Represent COMPANY in dealings with government agencies, customer representatives and other relevant safety and environmental regulatory bodies. Oversight of online subscription services that collect EH&S data, insurance certificates, safety, and training program data.


Provide timely response to quality managers, contract staff, and customer service representatives requests for EH&S data, and complete documentation in advance of Field Service activities. Provides hazardous services for customers, i.e., chemical handling and distribution.


Develops and works with clients on development of EHS training. Provides EHS statistics, i.e., bid proposals, contracts, surveys, metrics and tracking.


Perform Risk Assessments at client sites and track recommendations. Coordinate Industrial Hygiene Monitoring and Ergonomic Assessments for COMPANY.


Ensure that ULS is following hazardous waste disposal and clean-up programs and are using corporate approved vendors.


Participate in professional informative programs to maintain skill levels and certifications. Serve as the liaison and develop collaboration between TMO factories and IES on EHS activities.


Minimum Qualifications:


Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering or closely related degree required. MS is preferred. Minimum 8 years of EHS experience in chemical and/or pharmaceutical industry.


Regulatory awareness, practical knowledge/experience, and program development/management in the areas of Chemical Safety including Laboratory Safety. Process Safety (Hazard Assessment and Control) and MSDS Generation/Management. General Safety including Occupational Safety (OSHA) and MSDS Management/Preparation. Chemical Hygiene including PPE Assessment, Exposure Control and Industrial Hygiene Monitoring.


Environmental Compliance and Permitting to include Air (Title V), Surface Water (NPDES/SWPPP), Hazardous Waste (RCRA Large Quantity Generator/Contingency Plan) and POTW.


Strong understanding of EHS as it relates to service organizations. Demonstrated ability to interpret and implement requirements of government regulatory agencies. Emergency Response and Business Continuity Planning.


Experience and familiarity with exposure levels to chemical and physical agents. Familiarity with chemical incompatibilities. Broad operational EHS experience in a large service-based company environment with global operations.


Proven skills in the delivery and deployment of EHS services to diverse and dispersed user groups located at multiple sites. Strong project management skills and understanding of project management lifecycle.


Preferred Qualifications:


• Ability to make decisions or recommendations based on potentially incomplete information. Strong negotiating and influencing skills, both internally and with third party providers.


• Continuous improvement (PPI) environment with a track record of achieving significant development year over year.


• Strong written and verbal communication skills.


• Strong skills in relationship building and constituent management - the ability to bring compromise to situations between multiple constituents with different viewpoints/ motivations.


• Proficiency in computer/software skills (Outlook, Excel, Word, Visio, etc.).


• Up to 30% travel may be required (based on remote locations).


Other Skills:


Harmonize with clients, vendors, and representatives from all areas of the business and lead inter-disciplinary projects. Collaborates well with site-level staff, providing project updates and input regarding future potential projects. Interpersonal skills must be sufficient to potentially facilitate problem resolution internally throughout the division and externally with clients.
