Peaks' current focus is clean hydrogen and renewable natural gas (RNG) development from agricultural waste, landfills, and food waste, as well as looking at other technologies that can help the thermal sector move closer to a low-carbon future.
We have an exciting opportunity open for a Commercial Strategy Intern based in either Fort Smith, AR, Little Rock, AR or Portland, ME.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Commercial Strategy Intern is responsible for collaboratively working with the entire Peaks Renewables team under the direction of the Commercial Strategy Specialist. The Intern’s work focus will include:
o Learning about the RNG industry and Peaks’ development projects.
o Participating in Peaks’ commercial strategy initiatives, including understanding potential market opportunities for the various ancillary products from our RNG facilities.
o Supporting the Asset Management team with work on operating and development projects.
o Collecting, processing, and presenting data to support business insights and compliance activities.
o The Commercial Strategy Intern will be tasked with making a presentation to the senior management on their work regarding project opportunities and lessons learned.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Attend development meetings pertaining to renewable natural gas projects.
• Support Asset Management teams in data tracking and reporting.
• Evaluate and identify various project opportunities for improved efficiency, carbon reduction, or economic feasibility.
• Other project and industry-specific projects as directed by the Commercial Strategy Specialist or the Senior Director, M&A and Commercial Strategy.
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
• 2-3 years of college courses completed in business, economics, data science, computer science, engineering, environmental science, or other study.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
• Candidates must be outgoing and comfortable in a fast paced work environment.
• Must be willing to build rapport with external consultants and other project partners via Teams calls and in-person meetings.
• Must exhibit high levels of social and interpersonal skills.
• Must display a high level of verbal skills.
• Candidates need to have computer skills and be able to use common computer programs such as Excel and Word.
• Technical proficiency with data cleaning and reporting is a plus.
• Demonstrated interest in the energy industry, especially renewable energy, is a plus.
