Position Summary:
The Arkansas State University (ASTATE) Department of Psychology and Counseling, in the College of Education and Behavioral Science, seeks an Assistant Professor of School Counseling, for a nine-month, non-tenure track position for the MSE School Counseling program.
Duties & Responsibilities:
An earned doctorate in Counselor Education by August 16 th , 2025
Experience teaching online within the mental health or school counseling profession. Candidates are encouraged to highlight experiences with courses taught
Ability to share Formal Teaching Evaluations with student feedback from previous/current institution
Candidate must possess appropriate license as an LPC or LPCS, NCC, ACS, or licensed school counselor
An ability to teach both didactic and clinical courses
An ability to teach fully online school counseling courses and engage in service duties as appropriate for the program; including facilitating evening Zoom sessions
Provide comprehensive feedback on student assignments and discussion posts in order to promote learning and growth
Willingness to integrate Zoom sessions into didactic classes (at least 2 per session) in order to enhance faculty/peer interaction and augment learning
Experience in counseling-related didactic courses such as:
Foundational Knowledge and ASCA National Model
Social Cultural Foundations / Possess a high degree of multicultural competence and cultural responsiveness

Group Counseling
Program Development
Counseling Children and Adolescents
Psycho-Social Aspects of Counseling

Contribute as a collegial member of the School Counseling Program

Attend weekly team meetings
Provide support to students who may be struggling
Workload will include teaching 4 classes per semester (12 credits)
