The Inside Sales Leader is responsible for developing the inside sales team to heavily focus on prospecting, engaging new customers, managing customers through the quote-to-order process, and providing world-class level customer service to strategic, priority OEM, emerging winners, priority Contract Manufacturers, and long tail customer accounts. The role includes developing and implementing processes and infrastructure. This new role is reporting to the Senior Director of Sales, Americas.
Responsibilities
Sales Leadership
Build, lead, scale, and manage the Inside Sales Team, setting goals and objectives to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction; including growth objectives for 'Strategic Accounts', 'Emerging Winner' accounts, 'Priority CMO' accounts, 'Other Medical' accounts, 'Focus' industrial accounts and Distribution partners, as well as timing/quality objectives for all sales support activities across customers.
Develop and lead a culture of productivity and sales efficiency - always looking for ways to achieve and exceed sales targets and KPIs.
Develop and implement effective sales strategies, processes, infrastructure, and scripts for teams working in South Carolina and Minnesota, focusing on MedTech polymer products and catheter subassembly solutions.
Coach and mentor the Inside Sales team on a weekly basis, focusing on objection handling, call and closing techniques.
Track outreach, data-driven decisions to make strategic recommendations
Drive Sales Productivity
Be an expert in sales productivity tools such as ERP systems, CRM software, call center applications, LinkedIn, and B2B lead databases to drive sales activities and pipeline management.
Build a strong team culture and champion the success of Inside Sales Account Managers (AMs).
Create a positive and engaging team culture through events and consistent support.
Drive the operational efficiency of the inside sales function, focusing on productivity and process improvement.
Exhibit a strong work ethic by dedicating time to making calls and driving sales activities.
Quoting and Order Management:
Lead the quote-to-order process by preparing accurate and competitive quotes and proposals for prospective customers.
Ensure that all quotes, orders and contracts follow company pricing strategies and policies.
Collaborate with internal teams to gather necessary information and approvals to finalize quotes, ensuring a seamless transition from proposal to order and order fulfillment.
Collaboration with Internal Teams:
Collaborate with the Global Sales Operations team in implementing an EDI system for automated order processing, and automated sales processes including workflow and document management.
Collaborate with Marketing and Global Sales Operations to develop and implement an online storefront for early-stage customer sales engagement.
Work closely with the Marketing team to align on lead generation campaigns and promotional activities specific to the medical technology industry.
Coordinate with the Sales Operations team to streamline sales processes, manage performance metrics, and ensure alignment with sales strategies.
Engage with internal stakeholders to ensure smooth onboarding and effective delivery of products and services.
Key Interactions with Internal Stakeholders:
Sales Leadership: Report on sales performance, pipeline status, and market feedback to inform strategic decision-making and continuous improvement.
Sales Operations Team: Partner to optimize sales processes, manage performance metrics, and ensure alignment with overall distribution channel strategies.
Technical sellers: Coordinate with technical support teams to provide product training, technical resources, and troubleshooting assistance to distributors.
Marketing: Work with the marketing team to support distributor marketing efforts.
Legal and Contracts: Coordinate with Legal and contracts to develop and manage contractual agreements with distributors.
R&D: Provide feedback from distributors and end customers to the product development team to inform product improvements and new product development.
Quality: Consult with quality assurance teams to address any product quality issues raised by distributors, ensuring high standards are maintained.
Finance: Coordinate with Finance to manage credit approvals, payment terms, and invoice processing, ensuring timely and accurate billing.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree; MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
15+ years of industry or relatable experience in technical B2B sales.
10-15 years of sales leadership experience, with the most recent role leading and managing a team of sales managers to drive exceptional revenue performance.
Strong operational orientation with a focus on processes, efficiency and analytics.
Demonstrated success in building and leading high-performing sales teams and exceeding quota.
Experience establishing and building a thriving organization designed to drive consistent revenue success
Exceptional coach who leads by example and is willing to jump in the trenches with their team.
Demonstrated ability to build sales scripts and manage objections effectively.
Self-starter with the ability to quickly learn and leverage sales tools to make informed decisions.
Track record of building and leading successful sales teams.
Dynamic personality with the desire and capability to succeed with others.
Successful internal and external relationship management at both executive and staff levels.
Experience working in both entrepreneurial and established corporate cultures.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong attention to detail, and good follow-through.
Talented at explaining complex topics in simple terms in person, over the phone or video conference.
Travel 25-50%.
