Arthrex Manufacturing Inc. is actively searching for a Supervisor - Shipping & Receiving on first shift at our Fort Myers facility. The Supervisor - Shipping & Receiving will oversee the shipping, receiving and warehouse daily activities. The Supervisor will maintain shipping/receiving records, ensure the preparation of goods for shipment, and ensures timely and accurate deliveries. They are also responsible for coordinating inventory control, order fulfillment and distribution. Qualified candidates must be able to travel 50% of the time between our Fort Myers facility and our offsite warehouse near Southwest Regional Airport. A High School diploma is required. First Shift is Monday-Friday, 6:00am-3:00 pm

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Ensures orders are shipped correctly and on schedule.

  • Ensures verification of incoming shipments against the original order and bill of lading/invoice.

  • Maintains shipping and receiving database records.

  • Electronic records reflect actual inventories by following proper procedures and cycle counting daily.

  • Demonstrates ability to select most efficient and timely shipping options.

  • Ensures proper labeling for outgoing shipments.

  • Coordinates with the Buyers to ensure timely and accurate receipts.

  • Materials are issued timely and accurately to customers.

  • Compares incoming and outgoing shipments to bills of lading, invoices, orders or other records to verify information, and makes corrections as required.

  • Enforces receiving procedures by ensuring incoming goods are unpacked as required, examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.

  • Studies shipping notices, bills of lading, invoices, orders and other records to determine shipping priorities, work assignments and shipping methods required to meet shipping and receiving schedules. Considers shipping procedures, routes and rates.

  • Determines space requirements and position of shipment trucks and lays out positions.

  • Determines legal and load limits of trucks, according to established schedules and weight limits of states, and coordinates with 3PL providers.

  • Directs movement of shipments from shipping/receiving, inspections, and picking areas to storage and/or work areas.

  • Audits inventory records to ensure that product adjustments are properly made.

  • Plans and schedules inbound and outbound shipments to internal or external customers based on needs.

  • Resolves transportation problems by investigating and resolving detention issues.

  • Controls costs by evaluating shipments, consolidating loads and selecting most cost-efficient method of shipment.

Education and Experience:


  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required

  • Associate degree in related field or equivalent experience required

  • Bachelor's degree is preferred.

  • Basic computer knowledge (Windows applications) for material issuance and inventory tracking and control required

  • 2 years of previous warehouse and/or supervisory experience preferred

Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:

Ability to drive forklift. Knowledge of logistics, shipping/receiving and warehouse procedures, computer and external recordkeeping, invoicing, and logic skills. Supervision of multiple functions and maybe sites.

Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:

Knowledge of computers and other office machines. Ability to drive forklift and other material handling equipment.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to comprehend and apply mathematical principles to the degree required to perform the job based upon job requirements.

Language and Communication Skills:

Ability to comprehend and apply language skills to the degree required to perform the job based upon the job requirements listed above. Ability to verbally communicate ideas and issues effectively to other team members and management. Ability to write and record data and information as required by procedures.
