Description:
Duration: 6+ Months (Strong Possible Extension)


B shift: Friday - Sunday 6am - 6:30pm (Several shifts available)


Responsibilities:


  • Manufacture, assemble, and test New Glenn (GS1) First Stage & Second Stage structure.

  • Set up new production work areas, including tooling and equipment.

  • Assist with the transition from development to production, including first articles.

  • Perform second party verifications and hardware inspections to engineering models, drawings, specifications, and written procedures.

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and correct malfunctions by modification, rework, repair, and/or maintenance.

  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for recurrence control.

  • Operate various material handling equipment including forklifts, overhead cranes, aerial lifts, flight vehicle and subassembly transportation equipment, truck-trailer combinations, and other ground support equipment as required.

  • Set up and operate a wide range of precision calibrated tools including torque wrenches, micrometers, calipers, laser tracker, height gauges, and optical measuring instruments.

  • Identify and implement continuous improvement projects for area safety and efficiency.

  • Perform routine maintenance functions such as daily clean-up of work areas to support 5S, FOD, and ESD.

  • Ability to work off-shift, extended overtime, and weekends if/when vital.

  • Other duties as assigned or otherwise beneficial to fulfilling the mission and vision.

  • Work collaboratively with teams of diverse skills, fields, and backgrounds.

  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.

Qualifications:


  • 5 to 10 years of experience in aerospace manufacturing & aerospace structures (Sheetmetal).

  • Experience in Drilling Aluminum, Composite & Titanium structures.

  • Experience in at least one of the following is required: Heavy (Primary Structures drilling experience) or (Secondary Structures drilling experience).

  • Ability to interpret engineering models, drawings, specifications, understand written work instructions, and test procedures.

  • Basic digital literacy such as Windows, Microsoft Office, etc.

  • Ability to climb ladders/stairs and work in small, restricted areas.

  • Ability to work at heights on work stands and in lifts.

  • Ability to perform repetitive work, including lifting items up to 35lbs.

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Desired:


  • Industry certification, trade school training, and/or degree in a related field or (Airframe License).

  • Proven success as a "hands-on" technical leader.

  • Ability to work optimally with a strong work ethic and close attention to detail in a fast-paced dynamic team environment with rapidly changing roles and responsibilities.

  • Continuous improvement attitude.

  • Intense curiosity for understanding the details of our business and how to optimize it.

  • Experience in handling large aerospace structures.

  • Experience in assembling large tight tolerance structures.

  • Experience in new product introduction.

  • Experience in a team-based Lean Manufacturing environment.

  • Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma certification
