Child Action, Inc. (CAI) is a private, non-profit corporation created in 1976 to promote the education and social welfare of children and families and to advocate on their behalf. Our programs include resource and referral services for families seeking childcare, child care subsidies for qualifying families, recruitment and professional development of the child care workforce, and family education and support.
We are seeking individuals who are highly organized, have the ability to multi-task, provide excellent customer service, have good problem-solving skills and have the ability to understand the problems and issues facing families from a variety of ethnic and economic communities.

Position Purpose & Scope:
The Subsidy Provider Services Technician is responsible for enrolling new providers, conducting orientation sessions, maintaining and updating active provider files.

Typical Duties:
Determines initial provider eligibility for subsidy paymentsEnrolls non-licensed providers
Prepares documents and sets up filesContacts providers to confirm information entered into database; assigns account numbersProvides information directly to providers about the programMails letters confirming orientation appointments; includes packet for provider to completeMeets with providers to review documents and obtain signaturesCreates rates sheetsUploads required documents into databaseCoordinates New Provider OrientationsSchedules orientation sessionsInstructs providers on usage of the Child Action, Inc. Provider PortalShares appropriate handouts for available provider resourcesProcesses and updates provider files and databaseProcesses incoming/outgoing mail and answers phone inquiries from providersManages a provider caseload which includes processing rate changes, rate clarifications, address changes, type of care changes, phone number changes, account number changes, name changes, renewals and all other changes as required.Integrate strengths-based strategies into services provided to parents and child care providersCollects closure day policies for licensed providers and inputs closure days into the databaseProcesses inactivation'sUpdates changes into the database and communicates changes to Case Managers
Performs all general unit functions such as filing and file preparation, organizing, copyingAttends staff meetingsProvides coverage for front desk and worker of the dayPulls inactive files for off-site storageMay process Stage 1 Child Care referrals and Trustline applicationsCommunicates with State Licensing, TrustLine Registry and the Sacramento County Child Care Processing UnitCommunicates with Quality Control on payment and rate sheet discrepanciesMay provide language translationPerforms other duties as assigned
