Job Summary

Reporting directly to the Senior Associate Dean/Chief Diversity Officer, the Director is responsible for managing, coordinating, and implementing programs and services tailored to meet the needs of veteran and military-affiliated students. The Director directs and approves all operational and budgetary aspects of the University's military and veteran center as well as dependent services.
The Director manages and monitors the university's military and veteran student services; responsible for maintaining liaison between the university and the Department of Veterans Administration and other federal and state military-benefit issuing agencies; providing input on Veteran outreach and recruiting programs; works closely with all departments on campus to support recruitment and outreach programs, academic and financial assistance and student support activities; guides and mentors prospective and enrolled student-veterans and eligible family members through all phases of their university career.
Serve as leader, advocate and primary support person for veteran and active military students, produce, coordinate and schedule workshops and programs that enhance the campus experience for the particular student population including orientation, socialization and academic support, as well as raise the awareness of university staff, faculty and students on veteran student issues. Provide assistance for current students in the targeted population to seek access to external community based or veteran based services. Provide leadership to improving the campus climate for students who are veterans or active military.
This is a SUA-3 position, with a starting salary of $60,147.00.
