Location/Division Specific Information:



The Marietta Manufacturing site is a division of Laboratory Products within Thermo Fisher Scientific. Our laboratory equipment products are used primarily by pharmaceutical companies for drug discovery and development and by biotechnology companies and universities for life science research to advance the prevention and cure of diseases and improve quality of life. Our offering consists of equipment, accessories, and services for sample preparation, storage and protection, and analysis.



How will you make an impact?



Our interns are matched to projects based on their abilities and current business needs. All projects will have significant strategic and/or operating importance to the business to which they are assigned.


Summer projects may include the following responsibilities:


  • Learn continuous improvement methodologies (i.e., PPI, Six Sigma, and others) and help promote improvement initiatives.

  • Develop tools and models to improve tracking and efficiency.

  • Use highly specialized tools and instrumentation accurately and with limited supervision.

  • Partner with leadership to assess existing equipment, processes, and standard work with excellent attention to detail to increase yield, reduce defects, and increase production efficiency.

  • Benchmark against industry standard processes and offer innovative solutions.

  • Work collaboratively with other functions to optimally follow the PPI 8-step process to develop and implement solutions and train associates in PPI tools and concepts.


Start Date: This internship is set to begin on either May 12th or June 16th, 2025 for a duration of 10-12 weeks - dependent upon student availability per academic calendars.



Compensation & Relocation: Our undergraduate PPI Specialist internships offer an hourly rate between $22.00 - $29.25 dependent upon the location you are supporting (aligned to respective cost-of-living guidelines). Additionally, a relocation stipend is offered in the amount of $5,000 if necessary. Student must be located 50+ miles away from the physical location of the internship to be eligible for the relocation stipend.



How will you get here?



  • Undergraduate student completing a Business, Supply Chain, or Engineering-related degree between December 2025 and June 2026.

  • 0 years of work experience required; previous related internships preferred.

  • Proven track record of results demonstrating integrity, innovation, involvement, and intensity.

  • Energized through championing change, driven in getting results, and savvy in navigating ambiguity.

  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills with a high degree of emotional intelligence.
