This position provides regional, on-sight support to feedyards utilizing Synovex® implants in the United States. Primarily, the representative is expected to provide training and monitoring of the implant application process as well as provide detailed reporting to ensure that customers are maximizing the impact of the technology. Secondarily, the position may require support of Zoetis Marketing Programs focused on Resellers in the aligned geography.
This position is designed to be a developmental role for potential advancement into the Zoetis Livestock Field Force. Candidates should possess and enhance skills required for future sales roles at the direction of the Area Business Manager. Advancement will rely heavily on the colleague's performance in role combined with a willingness to relocate within the continental United States as positions come available..
Position Responsibilities
Ensure proper implantation procedures are being utilized through effective crew training and periodic monitoring (implant checks) for Synovex® customers. The candidate must possess the ability to communicate in one on one and small group settings to effectively train external personnel regarding proper sanitation, technique and device operation as well as provide effective corrective guidance when required.
Prepare and distribute qualitative reporting to internal and external stakeholders regarding crew performance
Support aligned sales area by monitoring and following up with Resellers participating in Marketing Programs such as Spring/Fall Programs and Strategic Reseller Contracts
Education and Experience
A Bachelor's degree in Animal Science or related field is preferred, but not required
Minimum 2 years' experience in production livestock, preferably cattle handling and husbandry
Must be BQA (Beef Quality Assurance) certified or capable and willing to become certified
Technical Skills Requirements
Excellent communication and coaching skills - Must be capable of providing effective training and corrective action as well as clearly and concisely summarize visits with internal and external stakeholders
Time Management - Strong planning skills, prioritization skills and adaptive capabilities
Self-Motivation - Executes scheduled visits (coordinated by SAM (Strategic Account Manager)/LPS(Livestock Production Specialist)/TBM(Territory Business Manager) and proactively supports team while not conducting feedyard visits (Reseller support)
Critical Thinking - Problem solving skills, observation abilities
Collaboration and Teamwork - Deliver qualitative and quantitative service improvement as part of a team consisting of Sales Representatives, Technical Services and Sales Management
Follow Through - Consistent and accurate delivery of internal and external reporting or administrative requirements
Basic computer skills are essential (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
Fluency in Spanish preferred
Fundamental knowledge of commercial cattle feeding business preferred
Physical Position Requirements
Willingness to work in all weather conditions where exposure to potentially hazardous conditions is common (cattle processing facility)
Available for unsocial work hours as necessary (early mornings)
Ability to lift more than 25 pounds
Ability to stand on concrete for extended periods
Must maintain clean driving record to operate Company provided vehicle
60-70% overnight travel depending on location
