SUMMARY
The off-sift Manufacturing Supervisor is responsible for providing day-to-day direction to their direct reports and delivering results that meet targeted expectations in the areas of Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
* Establish and maintain a safe work environment for all employees.
* Ensure quality is built into product by supporting quality initiatives/objectives.
* Work in conjunction with Production Managers to ensure daily production tasks are optimized to achieve productivity and OTD targets.
* Develop, track and communicate post-performance metrics ensuring all employees have visibility to key performance metrics.
* Drive schedule attainment, ensuring OTD targets are achieved.
* Drive the earned hours, ensuring DLE targets are achieved.
* Be active on the production floor in all areas and performing Gemba walks to review the established metrics and hour by hour boards.
* Motivate employees to achieve targeted production rates. Rally required resources when needed to remove barriers for operators.
* Identify and support continuous improvement activities (CIS).
* Participate in both informal and formal problem-solving efforts employing formalized problem-solving techniques as appropriate. Identify and support continuous improvement activities (CIS).
* Develop employees and provide access to training to ensure they obtain the skills required to perform at high levels by working closely with management and Technical Trainer.
* Monitor employee performance and administer corrective action in a timely manner when required.
* Provide regular feedback to employees via informal daily discussions, formal employee group meetings, one-on-one meetings and performance reviews.
* Track payroll, vacation and unscheduled absences using payroll system. Ensure production order transactions are accurately performed by the team.
* Work as team member ensuring the success of the overall business.
* Interview and hire staff with the support of HR.
* Physical Demands: Occasional lifting of less than 50lbs.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Occasional lifting and movement of objects weighing up to fifty (50) pounds and using a ladder may be required. This position also demands specific vision capabilities, including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS
* ASTM F-2412-2005, ANSI Z41-1999, or ANSI Z41-1991 rated safety toe shoes in specific areas.
* Clear ANSI Z87.1 safety-rated glasses in specific areas.
* Hearing protection in specific locations.
* Ability to compile with JSA in specific areas.
TRAVEL
Approximately 0-10% of travel is expected.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
* Bachelor's degree, preferably in a technical discipline, or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
* Five years supervisor experience preferred
* Ideal candidate will have industrial manufacturing experience. Knowledgeable in Lean concepts.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
* Manufacturing Managers/Supervisors are required to keep abreast of product improvements and product processes and attend supervisory seminars on an on-going basis.
LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS
* Fluent in English; reading, writing, and speaking
* Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
* Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and employees
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
* Basic arithmetic: add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers, fractions, decimals, and percentages.
* Statistics: Interpret and analyze numerical data using statistical methods.
* Basic algebra: The ability to manipulate symbols and equations to find unknown values, express relationships, and model situations.
* Basic Geometry: The ability to understand and work with shapes, angles, lines, and planes.
JOB SKILLS

* Understanding/Applying of Lean Manufacturing concepts
