Job Summary:
This is a technical program leadership role with broad accountabilities and high business visibility and impact. Accountabilities include project and technical leadership for upgrades to manufacturing and warehousing equipment in the plant, including major new equipment. The incumbent is responsible for leading a technical team to successfully scope and deliver projects on time, within budget, and with expected results in support of business and plant operating objectives. This position requires a leader comfortable with ambiguity and who can be effective in a fast paced and ever-changing environment to successfully deliver projects leveraging cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Partners with the Commercial teams, Procurement, Product Development, Quality Assurance, and Operations leadership to develop technical solutions to support new product launches and plant safety, quality, cost, and productivity initiatives.
Provides insight and perspective to leadership on strategic changes to product and processes.
Aligns and prioritizes technical program objectives across the product platforms, develops execution plans and assigns resources accordingly to successfully execute projects to meet business objectives.
Drives continuous improvement in project management and streamlining of work, especially around the administrative aspects of project management to improve team productivity.
Brings rigor to project management and execution with self and team and is a Champion for the company's project portfolio and management process. Practices risk and change management, including qualification to ensure a smooth transition to the process owners / receiving teams. Trains others on related aspects of these systems.
Adhere to all applicable safety and GMP requirements, quality system procedures (such as Change Control, Document Control, etc.), and engineering standards. Develop and maintain engineering standards and recommend engineering business process improvements.
Ensures project capital expenditures are according to plan and budget; time and spend commitments are met; initiates, justifies, tracks, and ensures timely closure of appropriation requests; assists in preparing capex plans for future years based on site needs and platform roadmaps. Regularly tracks and reports results and project status.
Leads and manages a team of plant engineers, technical specialists, college interns, and contractors to deliver technical solutions and is intimately involved in their development to ensure they can continue to thrive in a fast-changing business and technical environment. Reviews performance for direct reports. Provides regular coaching and feedback.
Works and maintains relationships with vendors, contractors, and equipment manufacturers to develop process changes or improvements on the manufacturing lines to support initiatives to improve efficiencies and product upgrades.

In this dynamic manufacturing environment where customer demands must be met, the Engineering Manager may occasionally be required to support production or execute project activities beyond the standard 40-hour work week schedule.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science technical degree, or relevant work and leadership experience.
Minimum of 6 years' experience in high-speed manufacturing environment delivering technical projects.
Experienced in executing equipment upgrades to support product improvements.
Experienced in leading an engineering team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
Strong project management skills.
Proficient using Project Management and Microsoft Office tools.
Preferred Qualifications (in addition to the above):
Bachelor of Science degree or higher in Engineering discipline, or Engineering Management.
10+ years' experience in a high-speed manufacturing environment.
Previous work experience in a GMP or ISO certified manufacturing facility.
Experience with high-speed converting equipment and plant electrical/mechanical systems.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies.
Certified as a Project Management Professional
