Champion is hiring a Director of Government Services to join their winning team! The Director of Government Services is a senior leadership role responsible for driving growth in the GSA CHAMP Program, managing agency relationships, and overseeing the GSA operations team. This position leads strategic planning, maximizes profitability, coordinates RFPs, and ensures accurate billing and reporting. The Director also collaborates with accounting, supports claims through UNIRISC, and trains team members on quality standards, while maintaining awareness of industry trends to inform business decisions.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Drive growth within the GSA CHAMP Program by increasing market share and cultivating new government agency clients.
  • Maintain and strengthen current agency relationships while scheduling regular face-to-face visits.
  • Oversee the GSA Rate Filing process twice annually and assist the GSA operations team with understanding and implementing CHAMP rule changes.
  • Develop and execute strategic direction for Champion’s government services, focusing on maximizing gross profit and GP percentage.
  • Ensure accurate and timely billing, invoicing, and expense reporting while managing the annual travel budget.
  • Collaborate with the GSA operations team and other department leaders to support government service operations and cross-functional objectives.
  • Coordinate, manage, and complete all government agency RFPs and requests while maintaining updated client and prospect profiles in CG3.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with agent partners supporting government services and vendors.
  • Partner with accounting to address account collections and provide support for claims through UNIRISC.
  • Assist in planning and organizing conventions, conferences, and marketing materials for agency clients and prospects.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of Champion’s mission, vision, values, policies, and technology systems to support responsibilities effectively.
  • Provide training to team members on quality standards and actively participate in the annual audit process.
  • Conduct mid-year and annual performance reviews with sales team members and approve timesheets for the GSA Operations Team Manager.
  • Maintain awareness of industry trends, accounts, competitors, and market opportunities to inform strategic decisions and planning.

Qualifications



What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Logistics, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in government programs or operations.
  • Familiarity with international household goods.
  • Strong understanding of GSA CHAMP rules, policies, and rate filing processes.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute strategic plans to increase market share and drive business growth.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills, with experience managing client and agency relationships.
  • Proficient in CRM systems, CG3, and other industry-related technology, with strong attention to detail in billing, invoicing, and compliance reporting.
  • Skilled in coordinating and managing RFPs and agency requests with a high level of accuracy and efficiency.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, including performance management and conducting mid-year and annual reviews for team members.
