Overview
POSITION SUMMARY:
Analyzes all accounts prior to charge off to ensure that all efforts have been exhausted and due diligence complete in the collection of the debt mitigating loss for the business. Approves or recommends all accounts each month for those accounts deemed uncollectable that meet the qualifications for charge off outlined in our company policy. Facilitates the accounting requirements necessary to transfer assets to OREO status. Consults with Vice President/Account Resolutions for appropriate actions on complex accounts.

Salary range for this position is $79,173.90 - $105,966.64 with a progressive benefit package.
Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs essential duties and responsibilities in the following areas which may include, but are not limited to those listed and are subject to change:
Adheres to the Credit Union's core values and Service Standards in carrying out GreenState's mission and vision.
Always demonstrates a positive member service (internal and external) focus, greeting members and guests with a smile and eye contact immediately upon their arrival, using their name or acknowledging them, and thanking them for their business.
Demonstrates teamwork in all interactions with coworkers and in the completion of all duties and responsibilities.
Ensures confidentiality of member information.
Supports a diverse and inclusive work environment.
Makes recommendations for and implements appropriate action for those accounts that cannot be contacted, or for which satisfactory arrangements cannot be made.
Maintains and updates member records. Records all communications and all collection activity.
Possesses higher system permissions and approval authority for all recommended deferments, modifications, TDRs, and workout loans.
Balances the collection GL and calculates Legal Reserve recovery.
Assists with departmental and/or branch training or job shadowing.
Reviews accounts with supervisory staff and recommends charge offs, account for repossession and foreclosure of collateral securing delinquent accounts, and for the maintenance of that collateral while in the credit union's possession and for its appropriate and legal disposition.
Provides finance monthly charge off and recovery numbers broken down by loan codes for call report.
Refers members to financial counseling resources when necessary.
Cross-sells Credit Union products and services when appropriate.
Provides support for Account Resolution Processors, as necessary.
Plays a vital role in enriching the community by participating in community service organizations and/or credit union sponsored events, on an annual basis.
Provides monthly stats for CFO and produces monthly charge off reports for credit committee and charge off review meetings.
Provides report of approved monthly charge offs to Account Resolution Processor III for validation, identification, and remediation of any transactions requiring reversal or errors prior to finalization of charge offs.
Provides list of approved credit cards pending charge off to CADs for file maintenance in External Core system.
Manages pipeline of aged accounts reviewing to ensure due diligence has been completed and efforts are exhausted according to policy guidelines. Provides coaching to AR Specialists on recommended actions to take to resolve delinquency or exhaust efforts to potentially include repossession or foreclosure prior to charge off recommendation.
Transfers foreclosed properties to OREO, process the sale proceeds of OREO properties, and maintains the OREO Analysis spread sheet on each OREO account.
Maintains insurance on the OREO properties.
Back up contact for 3rd party Recovery Agency inquiries for information, documentation, or settlement approval requests in the absence of Recovery Coordinator.
Manages all vendor payments for the department.
Performs any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum of three years collection experience, two of those years in loss mitigation, with reasonable knowledge of collection practices, consumer credit, real estate and bankruptcy laws and regulations, or equivalent credit, deposit, and/or financial counseling experience.
Two-year college degree or completion of a specialized course of study, or completion of a specialized or extensive in-house training or apprenticeship program.
Reports to work punctually, works all scheduled hours, and works overtime as necessitated by business demand. At times length of working day can be unpredictable, must be willing and able to work early and/or stay late with short notice.
Ability and desire to interact with co-workers to develop positive and effective working relationships in all areas of Credit Union services.
Interpersonal and persuasive skills necessary to gather data from a number of sources and to represent the Credit Union in a positive way during periods of stressful member contact.
Ability to work independently, prioritize assignments, organize work efficiently, and make decisions independent of input from immediate supervisor.
Ability to handle large volumes of details.
Accuracy and attention to detail required.
Ability to operate related computer applications and office equipment.
Must be bondable.
Reporting Relationship Reports to the Vice President/Account Resolutions.
Supervisory Responsibilities This position is not responsible for the supervision of other employees.
