We are looking fora Training Coordinator to join our team. In this pivotol role, you'd be responsible forcoordinating and supporting the implementation of hourly training programs throughout Timken Aurora Bearing. This role involves assisting in the development, maintenance, and administration of training plans, including standard work instructions. The Training Coordinator ensures that all required training is scheduled, delivered, recorded, and tracked, with a focus on continuous improvement.
Essential Responsibilities:
Onboarding and Training Tracking: Serve as the primary point of contact for monitoring and tracking the progress of onboarding and hourly employee training throughout the plant.
Needs Analysis and Training Coordination: Work closely with department supervisors to:
Ensure that Needs Analyses and Skills Matrices are up to date with current training requirements.
Continuously improve these documents to address evolving job and departmental needs.
Develop and execute training plans to support cross-training and ensure coverage.
Standard Work Instructions: Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to create and maintain accurate standard work instructions for operational tasks and processes.
Certification and Training Effectiveness: Partner with SMEs to create and maintain certification programs that verify the effectiveness and completion of training. Administer certification tests as needed.
Training Schedule Development: Assist in creating and maintaining training schedules, including scheduling certifications and re-certifications for employees.
Training Metrics and Reporting: Develop, track, and report on key training metrics to plant leadership, identifying training gaps and recommending continuous improvement actions.
Monitor Training Progress: Track the performance and progress of trainees and trainers, providing feedback as needed. Conduct "Train the Trainer" sessions and ensure consistent training quality across all shifts.
On-The-Job Training: Provide On-the-Job (OTJ) training support when necessary to ensure the development of new and existing employees.
Special Training Requests: Work closely with management to address and fulfill any special training needs or requests.
Project Management: Take on special projects as assigned, ensuring timely and effective completion.
Knowledge & Skills
A minimum of 3 years of experience in manufacturing or machine operations.
Strong communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to effectively interact across all levels of the organization.
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Proven ability to align and collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve common training goals.
High school diploma or equivalent
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Preferred Skills:
Previous experience in a training or instructional role.
Familiarity with adult learning principles and training methodologies.
