Your Role



The manager is accountable for the site's quality control and quality assurance activities and objectives. Their main activity is implementation of appropriate quality control processes to confirm that all products released for sale comply with the applicable specifications/quality requirements; as well as, ensuring the processes needed for the quality management system are established, implemented and maintained. They will also maintain high standards for housekeeping, safety and environmental compliance. The manager will support employee engagement initiatives and allocate resources as needed. The manager will drive operational excellence though continuous improvement which include CAPEX planning/scoping and support of implementation, Best Practice Sharing, and sponsorship of Lean & Six Sigma Projects. The manager is accountable for their areas of responsibility's key performance indicators and delegation of authority to direct reports to achieve the KPIs.


Responsibilities:


  • Areas of responsibility include Quality Control, Quality Assurance, and Mica Blend Specialist.

  • Supports site objectives by cascading them down into Quality organization.

  • Accountable for budgeting and cost management for Quality Control and Quality Assurance cost centers.

  • Authority to release of finished goods.

  • Identify CAPEX requirements for annual budgeting and 5-year plan. Provide scope, justification, and support for project development and implementation.

  • Accountable for all activities within area of responsibility including quality control & assurance, and HSSE (health, safety, security and environmental) activities.

  • Responsible for the processes for the management system which include ISO9001, RC14001, other site requirements.

  • Support the management system by ensuring their area of responsibility is documenting and complying with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Management of Change (MOC), Notification of Change (NOC), Customer Complaints, Corrective/Preventative Actions, and other required activities.

  • Collaborate with local and regional business partners to direct activities in procurement, finance, logistics, supply network planning, regulatory and human resources.

  • Collaborate with global counter parts to ensure harmonization and BPS.

  • Drive innovation through operational excellence.

  • Responsible for Quality employee engagement through employee development, identifying priorities and address critical topics, and allocating resources as needed.




Who You Are




Minimum Qualifications:



  • Degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering or a comparable education.

  • Experience in Quality Management/Leadership for 7 years

  • Experience in budgeting and cost accounting

  • Knowledge of a Quality Management System (QMS)




Preferred Qualifications:



  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Quality Control, Research & Development or Application Testing.

  • Visual acuity (color blind persons for example can not perform critical evaluations necessary for the job).

  • Nice To Have MS or PhD in chemistry or chemical engineering



  • Knowledge of cost analysis for new product introduction
