Job Summary
As a Manufacturing Business Process Professional at BPMI, you will establish production assurance standards of planning, coordination, and communications at all levels within the enterprise, scheduling, and controls. Work may include objectively assessing the capability of supplier production performance relative to the standards, identifying potential risks and vulnerabilities to schedule or quality performance, and assisting internal equipment departments with their cognizant production contracts to assure all Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program delivery requirements including production performance and delivery are met or exceeded.
Essential Duties:
Operate as the subject matter expert in the ability to assess and drive measurable improvement in one or more areas of operations including Supply Chain Management, Production Planning, and/or Lean Manufacturing for the Supplier Program and Operations Improvement team.
Develop methods, processes, tools, and training that will be used to assess supplier's on-going ability to successfully manage their production operation.
Develop supplier production operations management prioritization schema and risk assessment tools to leverage best practices for supply chain management performance.
Assist with development of minimum required objective evidence from suppliers that demonstrates on-going production operations management system health. This will include on-site assessments at BPMI suppliers.
Provide advice, guidance, information, and support to equipment departments regarding:
Assessment of risks and strengths of new and existing production contracts.
Ensure known requirements for production operations management are present: skills, systems, processes, personnel, and other resource capacity.
Provide unbiased, independent evaluation of project prospects for success.
Ensure that production operations risks are collected, prioritized, and mitigated.
Resolve issues with struggling suppliers.
Execute the overall supplier oversight function in concert with BPMI Supplier Quality Assurance team and sponsoring equipment department.
Analyze the quality programs (i.e. ISO, systems, and procedures) of suppliers to assess their capability to manufacture quality components efficiently.

Minimum Job Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality or other related discipline from an accredited college or university.
Six (6) years of relevant experience including three (3) years of Production or Operations Management experience manufacturing complex, highly engineered electrical or mechanical equipment.
Fourteen (14) or more years of completed education and/or relevant experience may be considered to satisfy educational and years of experience requirements.
Requires a security clearance; however, all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status. The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy security clearance is required.
Preferred Job Requirements:
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, Black Belt is preferred.
Experience implementing the Lean Principles (such as Visual Factory, Lean Management, Focused Improvement, Teamwork, and 5S).
Familiarity with PLM, ERP, MRP, and MES systems and workflows.
Production planning experience.
Supply Chain Management knowledge/experience.
ISO Lead Auditor Certificate.
Clear, concise, and timely communication.
