The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily activities of the warehouse and logistics operations within GMS Supply Chain. This includes managing organizational performance, inventory control, regulatory compliance, and team development. The role ensures timely and accurate shipping, receiving, and proper inventory management while maintaining safety and regulatory standards. The Warehouse Supervisor is tasked with ensuring the warehouse is organized and efficient, enabling high performance across all warehouse functions.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and motivate the Warehouse/Logistics team to meet cost, quality, and delivery objectives while ensuring customer satisfaction. Provide clear direction and foster a collaborative team environment.
Oversee team schedules, task assignments, and workflow organization to ensure adequate coverage, efficient operations, and adherence to deadlines.
Develop, monitor, and analyze key Warehouse/Logistics metrics, including inventory accuracy, shipping timelines, and cost efficiency.
Optimize warehouse layout and space allocation to maximize storage capacity and operational efficiency. Ensure proper inventory control methods are followed to maintain accurate stock levels.
Schedule and manage regular cycle count to ensure inventory accuracy. Lead the reconciliation of discrepancies, investigate causes, and implement corrective actions as needed to maintain inventory integrity and accuracy.
Work closely with Order Management, Procurement, Quality and external transportation providers to coordinate domestic and international shipments for customer orders, inventory items, samples, and special projects.
Ensure timely preparation and accurate filing of all necessary shipping documentation, including Bills of Lading, Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists, and other export/import documents.
Ensure compliance with domestic and international regulations governing warehousing, shipping, customs, and trade. This includes adherence to CTPAT, hazardous materials regulations, and other applicable laws.
Researching and assigning accurate Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) codes to imported and exported goods.
Oversee coordination and management of off-site storage and overflow inventory, ensuring smooth integration between on-site and off-site storage solutions.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on optimizing warehouse processes, enhancing productivity, and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
Coordinate and deliver training programs related to cycle counting, material handling, shipping, safety protocols, and other relevant topics. Foster continuous learning to improve team performance.
Ensure Warehouse Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are up to date, aligned with Zoetis practices, and followed by all team members, including contingent workers.
Maintain a high standard for workplace safety, ensuring the warehouse environment is compliant with health, safety, and regulatory standards.
Assist with other warehouse or inventory management tasks as needed. Take on additional responsibilities as assigned to support warehouse operations.
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in supply chain management or Logistics preferred or Associate degree in related field required.
Minimum of 7 years of experience in Warehouse/Logistics, Supply Chain or Manufacturing, with a minimum of 5 years in a supervisory role managing hourly, non-exempt staff.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint), with advanced Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.
Experience with Power BI reporting and analytical tools.
Motivated, self-starter with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization and manage a team in a dynamic environment.
Proven track record of problem-solving, process optimization, and successfully adapting to changing priorities.

Technical Skills
Proficiency in SAP warehouse management module, SAP ECC, and SAP Global Trade Services (GTS).
Strong knowledge of international shipping processes, customs compliance, import/export and global trade regulations.
Familiarity with dangerous goods handling and shipping regulations (preferred).
Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma mindset and behaviors.
Ability to conceptualize, analyze and implement new methodologies in support of improving customer service, inventory management, and business alignment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
This is a Durham, NC site based position.
Work environment is primarily a shipping and receiving dock area, warehouse area and office cubicle. This position will require standing and lifting (up to 25 lbs) throughout the day.
