Overview

As the Senior Vice President of Product Management, you will set the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for MetaMetrics Inc. You will oversee the entire product lifecycle, from ideation to launch and growth, ensuring our solutions meet the needs of our core stakeholders: state departments of education, learning and assessment companies, publishers, educators and students. You will lead a small but experienced product management and UXR team and work collaboratively with other departments including software development, research and development, operations, marketing, and sales. You will focus on growth, serving existing customers, and preservation of MetaMetrics' unique brand and market position.

The specific product lines over which the SVP has oversight include established flagship frameworks primed for further growth, including Lexile Framework for Reading and Quantile Framework for Math; and early-lifecycle products, including Lexile Framework for Oral Reading, Educator Academy, and Careers Database.

Product vision & product lifecycle management:

  • Develop and communicate a clear product vision and strategy aligned with company goals, market trends, and customer needs. Work closely with the executive team to shape the future of MetaMetrics' product offerings.
  • Define and drive the product roadmap, prioritizing initiatives based on market research, customer feedback, and business impact. Ensure alignment across cross-functional teams, including engineering, marketing, sales, and customer success.

Market Analysis & Competitive Positioning:

  • Analyze market trends, competition, and emerging technologies in the education space to keep our products competitive and relevant.
  • Develop strategies to leverage unique market opportunities and ensure we remain at the forefront of the education and assessment landscape.
  • Adopt a customer-centric approach, engaging with users and stakeholders to understand their needs and aspirations, ensuring our products deliver exceptional user experiences and educational outcomes.

Team Development:

  • Lead and mentor a small team of product managers and UXR, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.
  • Encourage data-driven decision-making and ensure product teams have the tools and insights needed to excel.


Supervisory Responsibilities

Supervises 4-5 employees in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

Requirements:

Education and/or Experience:

  • BA/BSc in an education or business-related field
  • Minimum 10 years in product management
  • Minimum 5 years managing product teams
  • Domain expertise of career readiness preferred.

Computer Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite and Internet navigation

Other Qualities:

  • Excellent organization and communication skills.
  • Strong sense of timeliness and deadlines, analytical skills
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Ability to work quickly, efficiently, and independently to meet such deadlines.
