We are looking for a dedicated Senior Research Scientist to join our ambitious team in Tampa, FL, USA. This role offers the outstanding opportunity to work on groundbreaking projects that compete at the highest levels of the life sciences industry.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Responsible for process development of dosage forms in terms of clinical phase requirements and customer expectations.

  • Planning, completing, and managing scientific assignments and problem-solving techniques to support projects in Product Development.

  • Expert in formulation and process unit operations (blending, granulation, compression, encapsulation, etc.). Supports technical transfer and scale-up of customer processes and technologies from lab/pilot plant to commercial scale.

  • Applying expertise in process unit operations and instrumentation to provide advanced level training to other team members as required.

  • Collecting, summarizing, and analyzing scientific data to prepare reports and make presentations, as appropriate, to disseminate standard methodologies throughout the function.

  • Leading multiple studies and conducting final reviews of study protocols, reports, SOPs, and other internal mentorship documents.

  • Providing technical expertise and consulting to technical decisions and solving scientific problems using a variety of advanced experimental design and structured problem-solving techniques.

  • Leading investigations and troubleshooting process issues to improve drug product performance.

  • Anticipating, evaluating, and implementing trends, new guidelines, and innovations in the area of expertise.

  • Assisting in the management of complex projects from initial inquiry, development, and execution.

  • Ensuring data-driven decisions and presenting high-quality results on behalf of Lonza.

  • Representing Lonza in customer meetings and contributing to proposals for new business with a full understanding of the department's offerings.

Key Requirements:


  • B.S. or higher. in life science or an equivalent field, will consider equivalent experience.

  • Minimum 10+ years of experience for B.S./M.S. holders, or 5+ years for Ph.D. holders.
