This role involves designing and producing complex layouts and cut-lists using specialized software and customer blueprints for wooden roof and floor trusses. It includes running truss and joist analyses to ensure quotes and orders are efficient and cost-effective.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for receiving customer blue prints, entering data into Alpine software, and developing layouts and cut sheets for production.
Provide helpful, courteous and professional service to all internal and external customers.
Communicate with customers and sales staff to resolve issues, ensure all plan changes are documented in writing and added to the project folder, and maintain contact via phone, email, or in person.
Responsible for staying within provided lead times, completing work with high level of detail and accuracy.
Responsible for coordinating repairs with engineers, updating Alpine job information, processing production paperwork, and informing customers of status, while ensuring all changes are approved by truss office leadership.
Operate in all facets with a high degree of customer service and attentiveness to other truss team members.
Always adhere to company policies and procedures - process, safety or otherwise.
Any other tasks or projects as assigned by management
Required Skills:
Ability to read blue prints and visualize details in three dimensions.
Ability to deal with customer and sales issues professionally, good customer service skills, and good communication skill.
Ability to multi-task, Good time management
Knowledge of field requirements and plant production requirements, local building codes as it applies to truss design
Ability to effectively present information and respond to question s from groups of managers, customers, or sales staff.
Ability to work with fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Physical Demands:
Regularly required to talk, hear, sit, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
Occasionally required to stand, reach with hands and arms, walk and to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Regularly required to lift up to 10 pounds. Occasionally required to lift up to 25 pounds.
Regularly required to see clearly with close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships), and the ability to adjust focus.
