Job Description:

The overall purpose of this position is to assist both the Next Gen Finance / Systems Team and the Financial Planning and Analysis Team on tasks related to our process improvements on financial reporting, Concur and Cherwell metrics tracking, report writing, and Budget & Forecast tasks as assigned.  The intern would assist in the following areas:


  • Assist in report generation for use in analysis of general ledger data in Next-gen Financial Cloud to be provided to staff on an ad hoc basis

  • Assist staff by running dashboard reports from systems used for Expense Tracking (Concur) and for Helpdesk Tickets submitted (Cherwell) used in presentations to leadership 

  • Assist with any reconciliations needed for NextGen banking, potential UAT testing of the system and other NextGen projects

  • Assist the FP&A team in support on Budget and Forecast Activity, Including Input into EPM for analysis by managers.

  • Input data into the Budget System (EPM) and run various analysis reports as needed

Functions:

Specific duties will include but are not limited to the following:


  • Assist in data entry & input into various accounting systems, both budget and forecasted information as required by the businesses the position supports (FP&A / EPM)

  • Participate in and assist in updating Finance Websites with current information

  • Use NextGen to consolidate and run metrics as requested from Concur & Cherwell systems

  • Work with accounting and each BFS team to track and report on any Next Gen reports requested to be used by them for analysis and presentation to leadership

  • Assist managers in support of the Next gen Process Improvement & Enhancements requests made by Volunteers and Staff to eventually streamline our processes

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

· Accounting, Finance, or Economics Major in College at this time

· At least 1 full year of study completed

· Some experience in MS Excel and financial systems would be a plus

Skills & Other Requirements:

· Technologically savvy in use of accountings systems would be ideal but not required

· Ability to use a PC with software, Cloud Software, and MS Office applications

· Ability to communicate to management both verbally and written in order to summarize and communicate out the work assigned

· Must be able to work in a cross-functional team and possibly have data analytical skills
