Job Overview:
The Accounts Payable Specialist will oversee the accounts payable process, ensuring accurate and timely vendor payments and maintaining strong financial records. This contract-to-hire role allows you to demonstrate your skills and potentially transition into a permanent position within the company.
Key Responsibilities:
Process vendor invoices, verifying accuracy, proper coding, and approval in alignment with company policies.
Prepare and issue payments, including checks, electronic transfers, and ACH payments.
Reconcile vendor statements and resolve invoice discrepancies efficiently.
Monitor accounts payable inbox and respond to vendor inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
Assist with month-end close activities, ensuring accounts payable transactions are accurate and complete.
Maintain organized and up-to-date records for all accounts payable processes.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve efficiency and support finance initiatives.
Qualifications:
Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Bachelor's preferred).
2+ years of accounts payable or general accounting experience, ideally in the distribution industry.
Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or MS Dynamics) and advanced Excel skills.
Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines consistently.
