Voyatek is seeking applicants to occupy the position of Expert Business Analyst our NYS Higher Education Services Team located in Albany, NY.
Key Responsibilities:
Analyze existing system documentation and related artifacts to elicit detailed requirements.
Analyze and understand as-is business processes and systems sufficiently to establish to-be workflows and designs.
Liaise with relevant stakeholders, including subject matter experts (SMEs), executive teams, managers, program directors, and end users to meet the business needs of the project.
Conduct requirements elicitation, confirmation, and validation processes.
Produce the necessary project artifacts that capture all stated, confirmed, and validated requirements.
Collaborate with the HESC team on requirements definition to confirm that system requirements align with state and federal standards and strategy.
Adhere to internal controls, guidelines, and procedures pertaining to the systems development life cycle.
Provide guidance to application development resource(s), through product backlogs, user stories, roadmaps, sprint plans, and related artifacts.
Support software validation through user acceptance and similar test strategies.
Provide project management support as needed.
Experience Required:
84+ months: Candidate is able to provide guidance to large teams and/or has extensive industry experience and is considered at the top of his/her field.
84 months of experience in performing requirements elicitation and business analysis, producing written documentation of requirements; system design and implementation
48 months of experience in Agile development environment working with stakeholders across different levels of the organization
84 months of experience using recognized business analysis methodologies (e.g., business process flows, fit-gap analyses, or functional designs) to design solutions to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the business processes
84 months of experience developing test scenarios, scripts, and data; reviewing test results; and assessing the implementation of appropriate solutions to ensure they perform to the required specifications and achieve the design capabilities.
84 months of experience describing in a comprehensive written document (e.g., business case, fit-gap analysis document, or functional specification) what the system, process, or product/service must do to fulfill the business requirement(s)
48 months of experience working on a large scale IT modernization project
36 months of experience using HP/ALM or a similar quality assurance tool
36 months of experience working in a public sector environment
24 months of participating in user experience elicitation and design exercises
The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions. This includes, but is not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and geographic location. At Voyatek, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current hourly range is $49.00 and $59.00.
