Kforce is looking for an Accountant for a contract opportunity with a large organization in Davenport, IA. The Accountant will prepare and examine financial records ensuring accuracy, urgency, and effectiveness.
Responsibilities:
Accounts Receivable: post monies received, aging accounts, and reporting
Accounts Payable: pay invoices, aging accounts, apply discounts, post invoices, track purchase orders, and reporting
Reconcile the company's bank statements and bookkeeping ledgers
Complete analysis of the employee expenditures
Manage income and expenditure accounts
Manage financial and accounting software used by the company
Track and evaluate daily activities for effectiveness and efficiency
Complete projects and duties as assigned by senior management
Additional responsibilities:
Generate the company's financial reports using income and expenditure data
File and remit taxes and other financial obligations
Monitor department and company-wide budgets
Track and report on sales activity and commission dollars earned and owed
Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and laws
Report to senior management regarding company's financial situation and both short- and long-term projections
Develop and implement systems for collecting, analyzing, verifying, and reporting information
Prepare and examine statements and reports for accuracy
Provide guidance and support for executives in financial decisions and long-range planning
Strong focus on reporting, budgeting, and cost optimization
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field is nice to have
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation preferred
2+ years of related experience
Experience with accounting software (QuickBooks, BILL.com, etc.) and data entry
Excellent understanding of accounting rules and procedures, including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Advanced knowledge and experience with spreadsheets including formulae/mathematical calculations, graphs, etc.
Ability to work independently
Analytical skills
Effective communication skills
Able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
Nice to have:
Able to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports
Able to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
Able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
