Position Summary:
We are seeking a Senior Procurement Specialist to join our team that will support our growing business within the aggregates and heavy building materials industry. Reporting to the Procurement Manager, this position will be responsible for a variety of procurement and supply chain-related activities including:
Position Responsibilities:
Manage local procurement activities and vendor performance with a focus on safety, quality, delivery, and cost
Take a "hands-on" and proactive approach to collaborate with Operations, Category Managers, and other cross-functional stakeholders to ensure effective working relationships and successful outcomes
Regularly visit prioritized sites in Areas of Responsibility and participate in key regional and local meetings
Lead spend analyses and identify, support, and implement improvement opportunities, including:
Supporting national category management and procurement system initiatives
Create and perform formal RFXs for large projects and spend categories to deliver the lowest TCO
Perform Business Reviews with operations management and suppliers
Manage and/ or assist with purchase requests, quotes, bids, and proposals. Review and approve purchase orders
Identify new suppliers and prequalify them to ensure ongoing supplier compliance to company requirements
Drive progress with respect to contract usage, eProcurement adoption, Procurement channel compliance, Avetta compliance, supplier spend consolidation, and savings targets
Provide professional procurement and supply chain-related training/ advice to all levels of Division management
Perform all activities in accordance with the Company's Mission, Vision, and Values, and in compliance with the Company's policies, procedures, and Code of Ethical Business Conduct
Position Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, or equivalent field experience
5 years of procurement experience (aggregates, manufacturing, construction, or similar experience preferred)
Experience sourcing, negotiating, and procuring equipment, materials, and services
Familiarity working with supplier contracts and compliance
Self-motivated with the ability to work effectively in a diverse, cross-functional team environment
Demonstrated ability to handle and prioritize multiple initiatives
High level of proficiency with software and systems (e.g., ERP, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Tableau)
Ability to travel 35-45% of the time
