Operational Support
Business/Operational analysis:
Collaborate with Enrollment Management leadership to define and plan processes and systems to meet EM business needs in the areas of mission critical data, reporting and systems integrations.
Serve as lead and liaison between the functional and technical users to make sure existing systems meet Enrollment Management's business needs. This includes the first-year application platforms (myIllini and the Common Application) as well as the internal application processing application (iAdmit) and the CRM (Slate).
Lead and participate in multiple Enrollment Management system implementation and testing efforts and fill in for Director when absent.
Project Management and oversight:
Lead complex software implementations and the technical aspects of various EM business process and reporting projects.
Manage the intake and resolution process for new features and change requests. Document and communicate issues/errors that arise to the appropriate technical staff for resolution.
Oversee day-to-day automated EM business and administrative operations.
Ensure alignment between customer expectations, business needs, and internal processes. Communicate progress and standards to keep stakeholders informed.
Lead the continued development and maintenance of documentation and training materials.
Lead the security access processes and procedures for EM and other relevant University systems.
Supervision:
Supervise one to three Data Analysts on the Data Analysis and Systems Services team.
Data Management and Reporting
Business/Operational analysis:
Work with EM stakeholders to ensure EM provides appropriate strategic and operational reports of prospect, applicant, and student data for Enrollment Management, colleges and departments, and other external and campus entities.
Lead the effort to create and continually improve reporting guidelines and definitions for Enrollment Management.
Report implementation:
Create and maintain basic Enrollment Management processes and reports.
Lead the oversight of the regularly scheduled and automated report creation and delivery.
Provide end-user support for data retrieval and reporting.
Required Qualifications -
(Assistant Level)
Bachelor's degree in business administration, management, or a field related to the position.
Four (4) years of professional business, financial, and/or managerial work experience.
Demonstrated experience with project management, complex data system management and/or data management reporting.
(Associate level)
Bachelor's degree in business administration, management, or a field related to the position.
Five years of professional business, financial, and/or managerial work experience.
Demonstrated experience with project management, complex data system management and/or data management reporting.
Preferred Qualifications -
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Science, Data Systems, IT Management or an IT related field.
One (1) year experience in managing data systems and/or reporting at an administrative level.
At least five (5) years of experience working with Admissions and/or Student systems.
Demonstrated experience with business process improvement, project management and/or business analysis in a technology organization.
Experience working with and providing high-quality service to a diverse group of constituents.
(Associate level) At least eight years of experience working with Admissions and/or Student systems.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities -
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Word and Excel.
Ability to complete small projects independently and work as part of a team on larger projects.
Excellent attention to detail.
Ability to multi-task.
Strong written and oral communication skills and customer service presence.
Ability to define and lead a project with a small team of people.
Appointment Information
This is a 100% full-time Civil Service 5010 - Business/Administrative Associate position. The expected start date is as soon as possible after the close of the search. The budgeted salary for the position is $70-90k at the Assistant Director level and $90-108k at the Associate Director level. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience, while also considering internal equity. Sponsorship for work authorization is not available for this position. Hybrid work options may be available for this position, with the ability to be on-site at the Urbana-Champaign campus as needed.
