Job Summary

The Director, Marketing Technology is a high-impact role that will refine the marketing systems and processes that deliver timely, personalized experiences for our customers. The director will drive the integration, consolidation, and optimization of technology platforms that power enterprise Marketing, resulting in growth and deeper engagement with our customers. The successful candidate will oversee the marketing technology strategy, roadmap, and implementation by bringing their deep understanding of web, campaign orchestration/automation, marketing data, and analytics platforms to the organization. They will oversee a functional team and establish cross-functional communities of practice, while reinforcing agile operations. This leader will be a strong contributor to the larger Marketing team and strategy as they will bring innovative solutions to the table that modernize and scale the enterprise Marketing engine.

Key Responsibilities/Duties - what you will be doing


  • Refine the Marketing Technology strategy and roadmap to achieve a modernized, scalable ecosystem that increases speed to market and campaign quality, while decreasing low-value work.

  • Evaluate, implement, and manage marketing technology stack to enhance campaign effectiveness, data analytics, and customer and consumer insights. Aligns the marketing technology stack with best-in-class standards and ensures seamless integration between marketing tools, CRM systems and other platforms to provide an interconnected experience for practitioners and customers.

  • Dives into work and leads by example when necessary. Must be willing to roll up sleeves and demonstrate product management expertise when circumstances and team capacity requires support.

  • Collaborates cross-functionally to ensure coordination of efforts between development and production teams, technology adoption and integration across the marketing ecosystem, aligning strategies to deliver optimal user experience.

  • Never settles for done. Constantly monitors and analyzes technology performance, identifying areas for improvement and driving continuous optimization. Audits and evaluates our marketing technology stack, including digital content management, automation capabilities, lead processing, measurement, and reporting. Stays up to date on the latest trends and best practices in marketing technology, digital marketing, and data privacy. Champions industry standards and trends.

  • Responsible for project budgets, vendor contracts, and managing the marketing technology investments.

Qualifications - what you need to perform the job

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:


  • Required (minimum): Bachelor's degree in marketing, IT, or similar role.

  • Preferred: Master's degree.

EXPERIENCE:


  • Required (minimum): 10 - 15 years demonstrated experience leading marketing technology teams.

  • Preferred: Demonstrated ability to develop high-level marketing strategies and drive implementations in the health care industry.

  • Proficient in several marketing technology platforms including website content management systems, customer data platforms, campaign orchestration/automation platforms, digital asset management tools, etc.

SKILL REQUIREMENTS:


  • Extensive experience managing teams that build and maintain CRM, marketing automation, DAM, and analytics platforms with an eye to constantly improve and optimize to greater efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Proficient in managing digital products and can personally manage through the product development lifecycle.

  • Rally a team of cross-functional players to establish valuable and effective communities of practice that foster a strong technology culture of upskilling and cross-training.

  • Growth mindset and intellectual curiosity. Constantly demonstrates strong initiative to improve.

  • Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication, project management and time management skills.

  • Provides the highest quality client service to both internal and external contacts; requires collaboration and nurturing of positive business relationships.

  • Stays up to date on the latest advancements in digital marketing, marketing technology, data privacy, and agile practices.

  • Ability to work well in a time-pressured environment and able to balance competing priorities.

  • Strong presentation skills

  • Proven ability to manage through change in a positive manner.

  • Demonstrated success mentoring and developing staff.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS (include special requirements, e.g., lifting, travel):


  • Must be able to work under normal office conditions and work from home as required.

  • Work may require simultaneous use of a telephone/headset and PC/keyboard and sitting for extended durations.

  • May be required to work additional hours beyond standard work schedule.
