Job Description

Job Title: Quality Technician-Global Change Management

Job Location: Troy, MI

Department: CM Operations & Quality

Reports to: Change Project Manager

Job Summary:
As a Quality Technician within the Global Change Management team, you will play a critical role in supporting active change projects, with a focus on tooling and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) submissions. You will work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and be responsible for managing the quality aspects of changes related to global OEM customers, ensuring compliance and smooth project execution.

Job Description:

The Quality Technician will work closely with Bose Regional Offices and local support groups to interpret and understand tooling change requirements and will guide the internal teams and suppliers to meet requirements on time and within budget. The Quality Technician will also coordinate and execute PPAP submissions that align with Bose customer requirements. This position will be best filled by someone with strong initiative, excellent communication and organizational skills, and a desire to learn about audio systems and challenges presented in the global automotive environment.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Support post-SOP (Start of Production) tooling, PCN (Part Change Notification) triage, and PPAP-related change projects, ensuring quality standards are met and documentation is accurate

  • Act as the primary liaison between engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supplier teams for tooling change project execution, implementation, and closure

  • Collaborate with global Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) to ensure timely and accurate PPAP submissions

  • Ensure timely and effective communication of project status, potential risks, and quality concerns to key stakeholders

  • Manage and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously, adapting to shifting priorities and timelines

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the change management and PPAP processes


Qualifications:


  • Education: Postsecondary Certification or associate's degree


  • Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of automotive work experience with strong engineering fundamentals and organizational skills.


  • Technical Skills: Understanding of tooling processes, PPAP requirements, and quality control in the automotive industry, or willingness to learn.


  • Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to global teams. English required.


  • Problem-Solving: Proven track record in problem-solving and decision-making in a fast-paced environment. Takes initiative and is self-driven to deliver results beyond expectations.


  • Adaptability: Ability to work with ambiguity and navigate through business transformation effectively.


  • Collaboration: Experience working in cross-functional teams and managing multiple stakeholders.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in global change management and/or PPAP within the automotive industry

  • BS in engineering, or equivalent

  • Spanish fluency advantageous
