Cash-Wa Distributing is the largest broad-line food distributor in the Midwest. We are a private, family-owned company that prides itself on providing the best customer service in our industry. The transportation department is currently looking for an individual to fill the role of Part Time Special Delivery Van Driver. Our drivers build relationships with each customer and become familiar with their operations to meet needs and expectations by having a positive, friendly attitude. This position does not require a Class A or B commercial driver's license.  This position will have an inconsistent schedule with shifts that begin on short notice. 

RESPONSIBILITES

• Safely and efficiently operate a van along a pre-determined route.


• Manually unload/deliver various products (meats, produce, frozen foods, groceries, dry goods, supplies, etc.) to assigned customer locations.


• Provide the highest level of service and product integrity for every customer by safe and timely delivery of customer orders.


• Build and maintain trusted relationships with all customers by providing face-to-face service with each delivery.


• Deliver merchandise to customer premises; stack if necessary.


• Accurately record delivery by verifying delivery of items with customers and obtaining proper signatures at the time of delivery.


• Practice defensive driving skills and proper body mechanics to ensure safe driving and delivering practices.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Safe driving record with a current, valid Class-C License is required. Must pass a pre-employment Motor Vehicle Record check.


• Must be able to work an inconsistent schedule with short notice.


• High school diploma or equivalency preferred.


• Ability to work independently.


• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English as it relates to the job and safety regulations is required.


• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Frequently lift, push, pull or move product weighing an average of 20-50 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds.


• Constant sitting while driving van.


• Frequent stand/walk during deliveries.


• Constant use of speech/hearing/sight abilities while driving and delivering to customers.


• Constant awareness of surroundings.


• Ability to work outdoors and in all weather conditions.
