We are seeking a full-time Automation Engineer 1 in our Olathe, KS location. In this role, you will be responsible for creating basic automated and robotic systems, applications and integrated manufacturing equipment in a team environment that contributes to improved operations and Smart Factory enablement through designing of fixtures, software applications, CAD models and/or schematics.
Essential Functions
Demonstrates ability to complete well defined basic tasks and/or projects
Participates in design reviews with a senior member of Automation Engineering
Executes tasks and designs according to assigned project requirements
Implements technical recommendations provided by senior members of team
Gains basic understanding of factory/warehouse processes
Quickly gains exposure to a wide variety of technical subject matter topics and may be responsible for planning own technical work
Ability to travel domestically and internationally on occasion
Utilizes knowledge of CAD software to create basic models/drawings.
Utilizes engineering tools to troubleshoot basic issues, evaluate root cause and implement and test solutions.
Identifies and resolves defects of basic scope using proper engineering tools and techniques.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Robotics Engineering, or another related engineering discipline OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
Excellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a rule) with the demonstrated ability to apply learned knowledge
Entry level knowledge of engineering design tools
CAD Software - able to create basic models/drawings
Programming Software - able to modify existing code
Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills
Must be positive, detail/quality assurance oriented, organized, analytical, and team oriented with the ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast paced/changing environment
Desired Qualifications
Previous work or internship experience working in a manufacturing environment
Previous experience working in a team environment
Previous experience working with robotics/controls systems/mechanical or electrical design/software development
