Supplier Diversity Consultant




Location: Elevance Health supports a hybrid workplace model (virtual and in-office) with PulsePoint sites used for collaboration, community, and connection. This includes remote work and 1-2 days in office per week at our Indianapolis office.


The Supplier Diversity Consultant is a core member of the Supplier Diversity team, which is a component of Elevance Health's Global Supply Chain (GSC) team. Responsible for supporting the Supplier Diversity Program objectives, which include advocating for our diverse suppliers, aligning our supply chain with our values, and ensuring diversity is ingrained in the procurement process. The role serves the critical function of managing the data and metrics that drive our diversity strategy, creating reports that demonstrate our diverse spend trends and needs to others, and ensuring process and policies are followed.



How You Will Make an Impact



Primary duties may include but are not limited to:


  • Manages Supplier Diversity data in coordination with procurement data analysts.

  • Assists in the development of strategy for increasing diverse spend, based on data.

  • Manages the reporting of the company's diverse spend data per clients' contractual obligations.

  • Identifies diverse-owned business enterprises for inclusion in supplier base when required for client RFPs and other specific requests.

  • Prepares internal supplier diversity data reports.

  • Owns tier 2 (our suppliers' diverse spend) program including strategy, data collection and supplier relationship management.

  • Develops, executes, and maintains mechanisms to track and enforce internal procedures related to Supplier Diversity protocols.

  • Coordinates outreach activities and training opportunities.

  • Participates in partnerships with advocacy groups to ensure optimization of membership benefits and diverse vendor support.

  • Represents Elevance Health at community, networking, and related events.

  • Resolves supplier diversity issues and responds to questions and requests for information.

  • Supports other tasks and projects as necessary to support the growth of the Supplier Diversity program.




Minimum Requirements



  • Requires a BA/BS in a related field and a minimum of 5 years of related experience within a large public or private company, including experience in public or corporate procurement, supplier contracting or finance; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

  • Being creative, curious, data driven, and an innovative problem solver with a passion for promoting diversity in the Elevance Health supply base and supporting Elevance Health's enterprise mission and values is strongly preferred.

Elevance Health operates in a Hybrid Workforce Strategy.
