Eurofins Clinical Molecular Testing Services LLC is searching for a Clinical Laboratory Director in Louisville, KY.

The Clinical Laboratory Director leads and performs laboratory testing, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, calibration of equipment, quality control procedures and is responsible for the validity of test results. This position also entails the development of high complexity assays according to prescribed and emerging protocols/technologies that are intended to be translated to clinical diagnostics.


Clinical Laboratory Director responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following :


• The Laboratory Director is responsible for the overall operation and administration of the laboratory, including the employment of personnel who are competent to perform test procedures, record and report test results promptly, accurately and proficiently, and for assuring compliance with the applicable regulations.

• The laboratory director must be competent in the areas of facility administration, general laboratory systems, pre-analytic systems, analytic systems, post-analytic systems and proficiency testing.

• Understands and complies with EHSO, OSHA and Eurofins Biosafety, Chemical safety and Radiation safety procedures and regulations.

• Maintains current technical knowledge and skills as defined in CMT policies.

• Acts in a professional manner when interacting with patients, visitors, and other staff.

• Adheres to administrative policies including but not limited to: attendance, dress code and required training.

• Performs related responsibilities as required.


The ideal candidate would possess :


• Experience in a laboratory environment preferred

• Some college training in science, or science background, or equivalent, preferred

• Excellent organizational skills

• Experience with Microsoft Office

• Excellent communication skills with written and spoken English


Basic Minimum Qualifications :


• A Medical Degree (MD) or Doctoral degree (PhD) in clinical laboratory science, chemical, physical or biological science that meets the requirements to be a High Complexity Laboratory Director under CLIA/CAP

• At least two years of experience as a Laboratory Director or Technical Supervisor in a clinical lab performing molecular genetic testing.

• Previous experience designing PCR primers and evaluation of different PCR protocols (GC rich, long-range PCR, or similar) required.

• Previous experience with next-generation (NGS) and Sanger sequencing required.

• Previous experience with prenatal inherited genetic testing and somatic oncology testing required.

• Practical and hands-on experience in Quality Management Systems (QMS)

• Experience writing SOPs and/or protocols required.

• Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship

Position is full-time, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., with overtime as needed.
