Position Overview:
WaterFleet LLC is seeking an experienced automation engineer to join the Engineering team. The successful candidate will have technical proficiency in automation, applications, and controls as well as excellent communication and project management skills. In this role, the automation engineer will be responsible for the automation and controls systems in WaterFleet’s pioneering fleet of mobile treatment technologies. Furthermore, this role will be pivotal in maintaining and improving WaterFleet’s remote monitoring capabilities including IoT applications and cloud-based systems.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for the design, integration, troubleshooting and upgrades of automation equipment in WaterFleet’s Mobile Water and Wastewater systems.
Capable of reviewing Process & Instrumentation Diagrams, Electrical Schematics and Controls Narrative/Logic for water and wastewater systems.
Frequently gather stakeholders to review and develop automation logic upgrades for WaterFleet’s fleet of mobile systems, and manage the field implementation.
Identify, procure, design, program and debug PLC, HMI, and IoT Software necessary to maintain the automation hardware inventory.
Responsible for the testing and integration of new technologies into WaterFleet’s IT ecosystem (including externally manufactured systems).
Responsible for the development and training of personnel in programming and automation as necessary.
Manage and report on projects related to the automation process by utilizing project management software.
Participate in the design of new automation equipment or processes including interfacing with WaterFleet’s Business Intelligence and Operation’s teams.
Develop and maintain clear, accurate documentation of WaterFleet’s automation equipment inventory and process.
Troubleshoot automated processes or equipment as needed when errors occur, including on site remote connection and travel to actual systems as necessary.
Develop a network of vendors and solution providers to partner with in projects, and educate the team on up-and-coming technologies and applications.
Requirements:
Bachelor Degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Industrial/Manufacturing/Controls Engineering, or Computer Science.
Valid US driver’s license and strong driving safety record (no more than 2 moving violations in previous 3 years).
Acceptable background check, clear of DWI convictions, for the last 5 years.
Foster teamwork and collaboration within and between department(s)
Minimum of 2 years’ experience working with automated control systems, preferably in the water or wastewater treatment industry.
Level II or Level III TIA Certification Preferred.
Must have extensive experience in PLC’s, HMI’s, SCADA and IIoT
Demonstrated project management, process engineering, system specification, costing, commissioning, maintenance, commissioning schedules, tracking of costs and extras, supervision of contractors, and spares management.
