ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
Routinely visits each facility to review all areas pertaining to facilities business office operations and functions.Assists in correcting identified problems, trains administrative assistants and accounts managers (new employee training and refresher training) and makes recommendations to Administrators and Regional Directors of Operations of office staffing needs.Responds to questions related to business office functions.Provides monthly reports to COO, CFO, and Facilities Operations Team outlining any problem areas or areas of concerns at each facility.Is available to fill temporary and short-term vacancies of business office positions.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE AND/OR TRAINING
High school diploma, bookkeeping skills, knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement rules for a skilled nursing facility preferred.Preference to Bachelors Degree or higher, greater preference for degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business related field.Active drivers license and acceptable driving record required.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of basic accounting and bookkeeping methodsKnowledge of regulatory accounting requirementsKnowledge of reimbursement mechanisms and revenue sourcesKnowledge of ancillary and other revenue-producing trendsKnowledge of hours, wages, compensation and fringe benefitsKnowledge of internal controlsKnowledge of anti-kickback lawsKnowledge of payroll procedures and documentationKnowledge of collection proceduresKnowledge of billing proceduresKnowledge of account agingKnowledge of resident banking procedures and account managementSkill in using audit reportsAbility to work with employees, residents and relatives.Sociable, courteous and a memory for details.Able to work at least forty hours per week.Pre-employment and annual Tuberculosis screening examinations.Valid Louisiana drivers license is requiredEligible to participate in Medicare and Medicaid programs
