The PolySystems Modeling team is responsible for the design, development, testing and delivery of PolySystems modeling capabilities supporting various inforce blocks of business, including Individual Life, Institutional Retirement and Long Term care, as well as International businesses reinsured to Bermuda. This position will be a Technical Lead helping drive critical transformational work that could include Individual Life model conversions from legacy systems into PolySystems, end-to-end process automation for Institutional Retirement and International, and ongoing model maintenance for all blocks.

The current EWA for this position is Hybrid and requires your on-site presence on a reoccurring basis as determined by your business. Your manager will provide additional details relative to the specific number of days you are expected to be on-site.

What you can expect:


  • Drive agile best practices to foster a culture of technical excellence, focus on value, and prioritization.

  • Play a leadership role (Technical Lead) in the design, development, testing and delivery of PolySystems modeling capabilities to support domestic Individual Life, Retirement, and Long Term Care businesses, as well as international businesses reinsured to Bermuda.

  • Help define and implement PolySystems best practices across the suite of supported models and businesses.

  • Design and lead testing of solutions and be able to communicate those solutions to a range of audiences.

  • Serve as the lead for conversion of actuarial models to PolySystems by providing recommendations for modeling options, validation of the converted model to ensure accuracy, building end-to-end automation, and explaining the differences to stakeholders and assisting them by providing information they need to perform user acceptance testing

  • Work closely with Technology partners to create a seamless user experience across a variety of reporting purposes, including statutory and GAAP valuation, forecast, and stress testing.

What you’ll need:


  • 7+ years actuarial experience is required, with at least 3 of those years focused on actuarial modeling. Fellow of the Society of Actuaries designation (FSA) is preferred.

  • Strong quantitative modeling and analytical skills; ability to understand and explain complex quantitative concepts and end-to-end models/systems.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

  • Creative problem-solver and results-oriented; experience with model / systems conversions is preferred.

  • Superior technical skills. Experience with PolySystems, SQL, Python and other coding languages is preferred.

  • Prior experience with actuarial model development with proven track-record for driving process improvements and the ability to connect work to desired outcomes

  • Experience with agile working styles is preferred.

  • Highly motivated individual who can work equally well independently and in a team environment.

  • Intermediate/advanced skills in a programming language, preferably python

What we offer you:

Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $160,700.00 to $217,300.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills.
